Sooo close... I can taste it!
This is the second to last week of the semester (besides finals)! Feels so good.. I just did my persuasive speech today (on how self-esteem is incorrectly used in public schools, with an emphasis on feelings rather than achievement, like how kids are passed to the next grade so that they can stay with their peers even if their grades aren't good, etc.) and it went great! Well, when I was up there of course, I felt like I was tripping over my words and that nobody cared about it, but I got some very good feedback once I was done, when some of us were hanging out outside of C Building. Athena and Nicia, two girls in my class, said I did really well and it wasn't as bad as I thought at all. Then this one guy, Jake, joined us and he was telling me how he was listening to it thinking "Yeah, this is a good speech.." and then when I did my clencher at the end of the conclusion (which tied in our class and how much we had acheived and improved over the semester) he said he really was paying attention and thought it was the best speech ending he'd heard all semester. Yay! So that made me feel good. Plus I got to hang out with them just chatting there for a while, which doesn't always happen in Community College classes so it was cool.
Anyway, I have no huge project hanging over my head for once. :D All I have left are two short speaking exercises, two short article summaries for Bio, and various finals (one take-home, three multiple choice, and one essay question type).
This Wed. I plan to go see Kingdom of Heaven with some friends, which should be cool... yes, it's Orlando Bloom, he of the blonde-wigged elf (don't get me wrong, Legolas was always my favorite character in the LotR books, but while his fighting in the movie was cool, he got stuck with a lot of airheaded lines and a "I'm here to look pretty" role..) but he actually looks rather manly in this movie, I think. :P Anyway, it looks like it might be a pretty good movie.. I hope it is, but it will be fun to just go out with my friends!
And then.... *sly grin* It is Star Wars... Episode III... Revenge of the Sith. May 18th. At midnight. Mmm.. can't wait. The prequels have been mildly disappointing as of yet, but I have high hopes for this one! Yes... my precious (ooh, now I'm mixing my franchises :P). It shall be the return of the Sith Lady trio.. shh..
