There are those that most likely wonder if I have expired, fallen off of the earth, changed into a radically different person, or largely gave up on technology... at least so I assume. In general, this semester was not the one I was planning for and it left me with very little time to do extra things. For instance... maybe someday I can actually PLAY .hack as opposed to letting it sit in my room. I small recap is in order.
Classes went as expected, for the most part. I had a somewhat difficult class, two annoying math classes (one took a lot of my time), and an extremely easy class. Yet, one class I thought I knew, marching band, was quite something different. I should have anticipated more problems from band camp as opposed to giving "one more chance". Yet, I don't know if I should complain about my year in marching band that I had.
Band camp was long and full of problems. When the year came into existence, the long stayed and the full of problems mostly resided. In essence, we had all of our planned football games, a couple of additional commitments (like 3 extra games), 2 additional trips, and then playoffs hit. Playoffs added in 3 more games and one more commitment. In other words, I think I only had two weekends to myself in the past 15 weeks. I have seen a ton and played a ton, "yay band" and all... but that was still a lot more of a time commitment than I anticipated.
As for personal events, my girlfriend and I are working out well. We bounce back and forth, regularly, from her apartment and mine. For instance, I am now on my laptop at her apartment. This is also a drain on "free time", if free time is considered what I used to do before this semester fired up. I suppose that since it has been such a long period of time that I might have to re-evaluate what "free time" now means to me.
I suppose I am gaining new friends over time as well... although I am not nearly as social as I was around two years ago. In fact, I think I am getting into the same old shy streak that I was in before. At the very least, this won't harm me much because I don't necessary need contacts now, being that I will have to make graduation decisions very soon and I might be going very far away.
That's the irony of college. To go the farthest, you have to avoid setting down any roots. In fact, always going somewhere and never settling down seems to be the ideal situation as far as I have spotted. Yet, it isn't a desirable solution for me... so I need to figure out what is next.
"Free time" stuff can always be revisited, it never really goes anywhere or becomes unavailable. All the other items do vanish though. Friends, girlfriends, locations, classes, schools, and life in general cannot be paused or revisited. If those items must move on, they do. So I suppose not having "free time" wasn't all that huge of a problem because I got the most out of the events that count... the events I won't experience again.
I'm not implying that there isn't stability in life... more so implying that there is little stability in the environment that I am in. Hopefully some of the past and some of the present will be around in the future... even though I really doubt that will happen.
