Sake?

..."Brigade of Cheer"?

[Riku's in the kitchen of the cabin by this point, actually! making dinner for...a lot of people. from a lot of rabbits]

It's a wonderful social lubricant and freer of worries.

[ have some Rangiku all up in your kitchen, since she was just the room over. ]

The Brigade of Cheer includes your little friend with the dyed hair. How many rabbits did you have to slaughter for this?

...so it's alcohol.

[...hunches up a little in his neat white apron]

That's what I thought. And it was only eight.

Don't make that face~ you'll wrinkle. I'm counting you down for the hot chocolate, then.

[ Peeeeering over your shoulder. ]

So what're you making with eight rabbits?

Hot chocolate is fine. And I'm not making a face.

[scoots a step away]

Brisket with vegetables and red-skinned potatoes over wild rice.

You're always making faces.

[ which amuses her; though she's also impressed at the menus. ]

Wow! Do all the men here live as confirmed bachelors, or did they just take cooking lessons?

I do not. [makes a face]

I like to cook. What's so unusual about that?

[ she's fetching you some cocoa, so her response is a little delayed. ]

Hmm? Nothing, I guess. I'm jealous, though. I can cook rice and noodles now, thanks to that Reborn fellow, but that's about all~

Here, have some peppermint cocoa. Warm you right up~!

he loves cocoa. and he's never had a peppermint variation]

...Thank you. [takes it, having a quick sip. ...wow, that's a lot of...flavor]

Smelling good.

[ a nod to Riku's dish. ]

It's not that fancy, just something to fortify people against the cold.

[blinks a little; his eyes are kind of hot. but he has been awake for a while. he takes a gulp of his cocoa.

yeah...strong]

How much cold fortifying do you plan on doing, Riku?

[ she looks like she's been surprised by his statement! and then she looks amused~ waiting for an answer. ]

As much as possible. Have you been outside?

[...wow, that cup went pretty fast. but then, it was delicious]

I'm surprised, Riku! I didn't think you would be so open in your pursuits.

[ she has stealthily noted his empty cup, and like a good hostess... has gotten Riku a nice new cup full of the peppermint hot chocolate. ♥ ]

Do you just like sweet things, or do I get to count this as a compliment to my cocoa-making skills?

[irritation] What's so surprising about it.

[...oh, well. if she's going to be nice enough to get him another one, he might as well drink it.

whoops, the rice is kind of burning]

Sweet things are okay.
