There are a number of answers I could make to the first question. Dreamstone, a material of remarkable strength and conductivity for magical powers, was used to construct all manner of remarkable devices. Mana, the intangible substance by which these machines were powered and which allows us to cast spells, was also intrinsically valuable.

But above all else, I would say... time.

Loyalty is the willingness to do anything for the good of the person you are loyal to. This does not necessarily mean absolute obedience to them... people often do not know what they truly need. Rather, it means devoting your will to finding the actions that will be best for them.

A wise answer. So the powerful of your world were those who could effectively control "mana" and "dreamstone"?

I know much of the uses of time.

Yes. Though Dreamstone largely vanished into the depths of the earth after the first cataclysm, as did much knowledge of the use of Mana. Which I suppose merely made both more precious...

Time was the weapon I and my... allies used to achieve a victory that should have been impossible.

Actually, I'm referring to time travel.

Time travel? Don't feed me fairy tales, the timestream doesn't work that way.

On my world it does. Or did, I suppose I should say, as the timegates no longer function. Ironically enough, this is in a large part because of the victory we used them to obtain.

I'll believe it when I see it.
