[A woman who should seem to be easily recognizable as Beatrice to anyone who has met with one (or two) can be seen leaning against a tree, patting the head of her pokemon companion - a lapras.  She smiles into the device when she sees that it's working.]

Hmm, it seems I've got the hang of this at least, not so different from some of father's ( Read more... )

[This was... interesting, to say the least. Another Beatrice who didn't seem to be either of the ones she knows judging by her clothes, but certainly had a strong resemblance to them.]

So far as I've seen, even the Pokémon who are native to the water do all right on land. And who are you looking for? I've only been here a couple of weeks myself, but I may have met them.

Thank you, that's very helpful, I won't have to worry about traveling then.
Heh, well, it's unlikely, but I thought I should at least try, would you happen to know a man named Kinzo?

You're welcome.

And I do, actually, if it's Kinzo Ushiromiya you're speaking of. I'm Natsuhi Ushiromiya, the wife of his eldest son Krauss.

Though... Time can work strangely here. The Kinzo that's here is much younger than the one I knew. So depending on how you look at it, he is from my past or I am from his future.

...I'm afraid I don't know what you mean... I do indeed mean Kinzo Ushiromiya, and I know he has children [who, thinking of which, shouldn't be old enough to be married...], but..."from his future"? Are you alright?

I know it sounds very unbelievable, but you'll soon come to find that many things in Johto are hard to believe but are still true. The Kinzo Ushiromiya I knew before coming to Johto was a old man, with his children grown and most of his grandchildren nearing adulthood. But upon coming here I met a Kinzo Ushiromiya who was much younger, from before he moved his family to Rokkenjima. It was quite the surprising meeting to me, yet he was too much like the Kinzo I knew for him to not be the same person, merely younger.

Hmm, this place really is very odd.
Kinzo's family, hm...? I'm glad to hear he'll live a long life, to see your grandchildren off into adulthood would be wonderful, I'm sure.

But I guess that just proves no one really changes that much!

You say you're his daughter-in-law? You're well-spoken, I hope for his sake all of his children and their partners are like that!
[and, well, maybe for the sake of any potential children she may end up having with him, though she certainly can't say that]

Yes, I am, and thank you. I like to think my parents raised me well. And most of his children are happily married when I'm from.

What would you prefer that I call you? I'm sure I'll be seeing more of you, since you're close to Kinzo.

aha, most, yes, lookin' at you, Rosa goldenpasta July 4 2011, 22:03:04 UTC
Ah, that's good. [of course, she thinks that means Kinzo let all of his children pick their partners knowing how much better it would be for them based on his own experience, but...] Your husband, is he here too...?

I'm glad you mention it, you can call me 'Bice', and is there anything you prefer or just 'Natsuhi'?

Poor Rosa... :^( eagledheart July 5 2011, 03:57:20 UTC
[Well, that's mostly true... I'm pretty sure Krauss/Natsuhi was the only actually arranged one, which worked out luckily.] Unfortunately not. I wish he was, I miss him and I think a vacation would do him good...

And Natsuhi will be fine, Bice.

Hmm, that's unfortunate...you're married to Krauss, was it? I think I've heard that name, Kinzo has interesting taste, how German [smile] It's always difficult to be away from the one you love...
Do you have children? But, of course, you don't look anywhere near old enough to have grandchildren.

That's correct. And Kinzo favored Western names for his children, a tradition that they continued with their own children.

Krauss and I have a daughter named Jessica. And while Lion wasn't born from my body, we consider each other mother and child. Though if you want more details about that, it would be best for you to ask Kinzo about it, or bring up the subject to Lion directly.

Hmm, the grandchildren's names sound much more English, was that an intentional trend - if you have any idea of course, German names for the children and English for theirs? It's interesting, I like it~

You're right, they do... And no, it wasn't intentional, the names just ended up turning out that way.
