Well, does that mean you prefer to be called by your family name? Being used to it and prefering one over the other are very different things!

I can't say I know of a relative who shares my name, though it's not unheard of...

No, is it really that personal? Your given name was given to you to distinguish you as an individual, rather than just a limb of your family.
