Passions for things like travel and backpacking are just the ticket to the kind of not needing to be "important" or "accomplished." A good friend of mine has spent his whole life traveling and backpacking across the world, and he's feeling kind of frustrated right now that he doesn't have an "acomplishments" to show for his life. other people his age have families or carefully built careers, but he just has good stories and opinions. but i plan on writeing SEVERAL books about him, because he has had such an interesting life. i've told him over and over that his accomplishment may not be something obvious and flashy like being a CEO or a dad, but he has affected the lives of countless other people in ways, and they have probbaly done things they wouldn't have if he hadn't wandered into their lives.

my point is that you don't need a career to be happy, and that you can have a perfeectly interesting and exciting life as long as you do what makes you happy, instead of setting yourself against some standard.

and i plan on putting you in my memoirs so that's one book with you in it right there.
