Man, I loathe macaroni and cheese, but throw "chipotle" and "bacon" in that concept and suddenly I WANT SOME RIGHT THE HELL NOW DAMNIT.

Now I'm all hungry. Incidentally, I have a food journal, infrequently updated: ghastlygourmet.

Oooh. *goes to poke at the journal*

Do you hate all macaroni and cheese, or just the boxed kind? Homemade baked macaroni and cheese is way better than dubious-orange-powder macaroni, IMO.

Mysterious orange powder or casserole-style, I have a pretty well-entrenched aversion. It's the elbow noodles, mostly. They invariably get either over- or undercooked, and the cheese is watery or weirdly textured or cut with that staple of the Midwest, condensed cream soup for maximum yuck. And breadcrumbs on the top = very much indeed no. It's just a pile of foodie fail.

That recipe looks like something I might try, though. I'm sort of phenomenally unpicky. I poke at all my food aversions from time to time -- once a year or so, I nom a slice of fresh tomato and go "yep, still hate that". Like I can't quite believe that there's food I dislike. I mean, it's FOOD. Yay food! I might prefer some foods to other foods, but outright "yuck" is rare for me.
