Before I get to the strange coincidence, if you haven't seen Sicko, what are you waiting for? To anyone who has ever wondered why I get all misty-eyed and distracted whenever the UK or France are mentioned, this movie will explain it all. It will also make you laugh and cry. Mostly cry.
Okay, the coincidence. I've been visiting Twice Sold Tales on Capitol Hill a lot lately (what can I say? I'm a sucker for books and cats). One of the guys I've seen at the counter a couple of times looked very familiar to me from when I worked at Barnes & Noble in Southcenter ten years ago, but I wasn't quite convinced it was him. Well, tonight I bought a couple of books, and he asked me at the counter if I used to work at B&N - it really was the same guy. From a job I had for four months, ten years ago, and we remembered each other. Strange! We hung out talking for about an hour since Sunday nights are pretty quiet there. He just took the job at TST recently, and I just started going there recently. I guess book people really are drawn to the same places.
