OKAY SO, the last time elapses had a Harry Potter phase she was going on about how much she loved Ted/Andromeda and I didn't really... get it, because they are two characters who together have about one scene plus maybe three throwaway lines total in the entire seven books, and how do you even have an opinion on that? Anyway, she made me read fic for them and of course then I had A LOT OF OPINIONS ON THAT, because as it turns out they are delightful! However, if you are looking for fic you are mostly shit out of luck, because over half of the "good" Ted/Andromeda fic is on ff.net so... take that as you will (for reference, I mostly had this in mind while I was making this, because even though it took me a while to get into it and the timeline is completely inexplicable, overall it's solid and the characterization is good, particularly Narcissa's). I just really love Andromeda, how she's mostly the quiet, inoffensive middle sister and then she ends up eloping when she's seventeen. I like that she and Ted alternate between adolescence (I think my favorite aspect of the whole thing is Andromeda growing up and figuring out who she is and acting accordingly) and something much more serious. It's weird because one of the things I love about them is how young they get married (in fic they usually elope straight out of Hogwarts, and according to the HP timeline Andromeda has Nymphadora when she's around 19/20), usually that's not something I'm into but with them it just fits. I HAVE A LOT OF THOUGHTS ABOUT THEM, mostly unimportant, but this mix turned out half super cliched because I wanted to try and make it... dated, I guess? I loved the detail in the fic I mentioned above of Ted loving the Beatles and Andromeda having no idea what they even were, so I starting building this from that. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE A LEGIT (okay, "legit") MIX WITH A SONG FROM THE LOVIN' SPOONFUL ON IT, but there you go. Just when I think that I've hit new lows, I find a way to surprise myself. There's nothing I love more than a good embarrassing mix! (Seriously, if I could communicate all of my feelings about fictional pairings through mixes made up entirely of pop music, I WOULD.) (Oh my god you guys this is so lame, who even lets me be a real person.)
