Full Name: Allen Burrell, will use the alias Martin Merrick Race: Targaryen Human Occupation: Priest of the Citadel Healer, unaffiliated Faction, if applicable: Citadel 4 all lyfs Reputation & rumors: Allen is considered exceptionally devoted by most members of the Citadel and a zealot to anyone outside it. He's extreme in all his beliefs and is quick to defend his faith and dismiss any differing opinions as (sadly) uninformed, though he will try his hardest to persuade and lead others into seeing his God's way. Though he's considered slightly unbalanced, Allen is still well-known in the poorest districts as a kind, gentle helper. He'll do even the most unpleasant duties in order to aid those in need and never utter a word of complaint.
Rumors: * Has more than a brotherly affection for his sister, the Occia nope she was 12 last time he saw her * Losing his damn mind (fact) * Bullied his sister into promoting him to Priest
Age: 17 Birthday: January 1st Birth Location: Tyrol, Balfour Height: 5'8" Weight: idk something healthy PB (Played-By): Harry Lloyd
History: Allen wasn't brought up to have faith. His parents both professed to believe in Cita, but they never attended the Citadel or spared more than a passing glance at anyone in need. It puzzled him; the needy were all around them, starving, sick, dying, desperate. When Allen stopped to offer food or money, his parents hissed at him and pulled him away.
His sister was born when he was five, a fragile thing with trusting eyes and soft white hair. Allen took care of her as often as not, holding her until she fell asleep while his parents quarrelled over her future. When her hair didn't darken, he watched his parents' suddenly refocus their attention. Suddenly Moirine was all they saw. Allen didn't resent that; he realized that his parents' obsession with Moirine's success was just that. They didn't love her, only what they could gain by her. It became suddenly apparent to the young boy that his parents had never loved Cita at all. They were ambitious and selfish, and hoped to use his sister - who could very well be Cita's holy bride - for their own profit.
Allen became determined not to let them. His sister was very young, vulnerable, and frightened. He visited her as often as he could. He had no money to bring gifts like his parents did, but he devoted his attention entirely to his sister and her troubles, listening attentively to everything she had to say. When he was old enough, he entered the Citadel as an Initiate to better keep an eye on her. He stopped speaking with their parents entirely. They were wicked, shameful, trying to use someone as pure as his sister for their own benefit. Worst of all, they didn't believe. Allen devoted himself to Cita and prayed that he might forgive his parents' wickedness and protect his sister, even if he didn't choose her as his bride. He did everything he could as penance. The priests and Cancellarius commended him on his service but often questioned the lengths to which he was willing to go. They cautioned him with moderation, but Allen would hear none of it. When his sister was chosen as Occia, he knew he'd done well. It was not, of course, his doing entirely; his sister had withstood tremendous pressure, had become beautiful, clever, and so kind... Allen wept when they rose her up, and had never been more proud or happy. He was beside himself when she named him Priest and asked him to stay with her. Some began to call him fanatical, but again Allen didn't listen. He wasn't fanatical, he was devoted. He wasn't obsessive, he was loving. His sister needed him.
He's stayed by her side constantly since then. Tasks outside the city are the only sort he'll refuse; Allen's place is beside his sister. Then some shit happened, he went nuts, got drugged a lot, kidnapped twice, knocked up his sister, and then asked Cita to kill him. Was killed. This is the story of a pair of siblings who lost everything, and the one crazy brother who had no choice but to come back to life. This is Arrested Burrells.
Personality: Though full of good intentions, Allen is not especially likeable. He's a mess of extremes, of black and white morality. He tries very hard to follow the precise path he believes his God has laid out for him, and won't accept anything he considers a deviation, no matter how slight. He considers himself a true believer, a soldier of the faith. To that end he will help anyone and do anything required of him. He's very worried about setting a good example for his sister and earning what he still believes is an undeserved promotion. He applies himself exceptionally hard in his studies of the Epistles and of the healing arts, and will spend long hours fasting or praying in an attempt to improve himself mentally and spiritually.
Allen is an extremely compassionate person. No matter how unpleasant a task, he'll do it. He cares for the sick without any worry of catching ill himself, will visit even the most desperate and dire slums in Tyrol without fear of being hurt. Sometimes he is, and sometimes he does catch ill, but he never complains. He's very trusting and will forgive any slight if he believes the other party sincere, as he's always sincere himself. He tends to come off as extremely condescending (and it's usually worse when you realise he means every word with utmost sincerity) and is genuinely puzzled when called on it.
His sister is second to nothing. Everything he does he does for her and for Cita, but it's apparent that he places her higher even than his God. She's his little sister as well as his Occia; his loyalty to her is unquestioning. If there's any threat to her and her happiness, he'll attack it viciously.
Appearance: Skinny and sharp-featured, Allen puts many people in mind of a rat. His posture is slightly bent and, combined with the long, slim robes of the priesthood, draw attention both to the slope of his shoulders and the small curve of his belly. His hair is white, disheveled, dry, and falls to his shoulders, but will soon be cropped short and dyed brown. Where Moirine's features and round and soft, Allen's are pointed, overlarge. His nose is upturned at the tip, his brow heavy, and his mouth wide and thin. The only notable feature he shares with his sister are his eyes. Both siblings have round, pale green eyes, and they're the only feature Allen has that look gentle.
Always devout, Allen only ever wears the simple robes of the priesthood. They're stained and threadbare in places, but he refuses to accept new garments until the old are entirely unwearable. His sandals are mudstained and falling apart, his feet and hands dirty. L O L
Languages Known: English. Skills: A decent healer, can go without food or sleep for a long time (this is only a skill in the priesthood, really, and fucks majorly with his health), and has the immune system of an ox. Strengths: Compassionate, gentle, loyal, selfless, patient, trusting, honest, and devout. Weaknesses: No martial skills or strength, mentally unbalanced, hypocritical, and condescending.
