PLAYER
CHARACTER
NAME: Joshua Foley / Elixir
AGE: 17
GENDER: Male
ROLE IN CANON: Side Kick
FANDOM/MEDIUM: Comic
TIMELINE PERIOD: Around X-Force #17.
ABILITIES:
Biokinesis: Elixir is capable of controlling the biological structure of his own and other people's bodies. Theoretically capable of rewriting someone's genetic structure at will. He can produce biomolecular energy at will to affect organic matter he touches, allowing him to heal physical damage done to his body or the bodies of others, reactivate suppressed mutant abilities, repair cerebral functions, and alter the composition of his own molecules in certain ways. He hasn't reached his full healing potential yet. Currently he is capable of basic healing, having successfully healed broken bones, severe burns and even a mortal stab through the chest. His ability is by close proximity - he tends to touch his targets, but can heal through clothing. He may eventually develop enough control of his powers to manipulate the human genome, altering eye, hair and skin colour, implanting physical characteristics or even reactivating dormant mutant or atavistic genes.

Elixir has advanced knowledge of human anatomy and medicine copied into his mind from Beasts by The Stepford Cuckoos. This allows him to use his power to it's fullest extent, including regrowing Prodigy's heart from nothing and infecting Vanisher with a lethal brain tumour.

CHARACTER PERSONALITY:
In the beginning Josh was an angry young man, who wanted to fit in. He went along with just about anything his friends wanted him to do and that included going to a hate group meeting. It was during this meeting, which his life changed. He reacted badly to the discovery that he was a mutant, and when his parents found out, he was disowned. He left lost and betrayed by those he trusted, and he hated himself for turning down the only person who had shown him any type of compassion.

Upon arriving at the mansion, he felt even more lost and alone. He didn’t want to be there, but knew that he had nowhere else to go. He openly was disliked by most of the students, including his roommate, and showed an open dislike right back at them. He was anger and depressed, especially after his parents formally disowned him. His first real friend at the school was based on his anger and the need to be the “cool kid” once more. The friendship didn’t last, and he was once more left alone and very reluctant to trust anyone else.

This changed when the team called the New Mutants reached out to him. He started to relax around them, and openly welcomed their friendships and others like them. Glad to finally have somewhere to really belong. But his rebel days weren’t over. When Rahne appeared at the school, Josh once more became the bad boy, just to please her. He’d sneak out of the mansion and even entered a bar just to get her attention. He wanted to be everything to her, and even the threat of death couldn’t keep him away. The two remained dating until their relationship for a short time.

Josh has always seen himself as the “golden boy” and even lying on his death bed, those thoughts didn’t leave him. As he healed himself, a part of his mind must have wanted that as well, because when he was healed up his skin and hair had turned to gold.

Josh used to be self centered, and rather cared about much more than getting his own way. He’d even go as far as to use someone else to get what he wanted. Though he would later feel bad for doing so, and would seek out anyway to right what he had done wrong.

In the aftermath of M-Day, Josh felt it was his fault for the death of many of the former students. He still carries the weight of his failure to this day.

Josh is fueled by his emotions, and acts according to them. In times of great depression, he sinks in on himself and refuses to do much else. While in times of great anger, he lashes out in the most deadly ways possible. This all ended however with the death of Reverend Stryker and him healing X-23.

Josh took on a more peaceful view of life. Wanting to learn everything he could about healing so he could save more people. He would spend lots of time studying, and just sitting around thinking. He still does not like to fight, or to even be around violence, but will when people need him.

His time with X-Force has hardened him a bit about fighting, and violence. However he still wishes to be able to help the world by healing, and not fighting. He’ll leave the fighting to the warriors, and be the one to heal them when they come home.

Josh takes his friendships very seriously, and will easily jump to help them in any way he can. Even fight if he must. He even fought off demons to be able to safe his friends, when teleported to Limbo. And he jumped to save Laura (X-23) when he went to kill herself. Getting very emotional on both occasion.

WORLD: Marvel 616. Same as Sue, Kate, Bobby, and Billy

THIRD PERSON:
Josh felt sick to his stomach. But he didn’t have the energy to heal himself. He knew that he was hurt, he could feel blood on him, but he couldn’t tell where it might be coming from. His head was throbbing and he ached all over. But something was wrong. He couldn’t tell what it was, but something. He felt off. Something was seriously wrong!

He blinked open his eyes and tried to focus. Even as his eye sight spun he could tell the basic things. He was in a rundown building, which looked as if it had been destroyed by a bomb, and he was lying on the ground. Not so much with the helpful, but it was what he could take in. He then noticed something more upsetting. He was in, and he was pretty sure on this one, a pool of his own blood. That wasn’t right. It was very much NOT right. He healed nearly instantly, well no that wasn’t right. But he shouldn’t be bleeding this much, and he definitely shouldn’t stay on the hard cold ground. Any infection would take more time to heal out of his system, than just a simple wound.

He slowly sat up, and his hand went right to his forehead. It felt like the world was spinning and he couldn’t make it stop. He couldn’t focus. He closed his eyes once more and tried to heal the headache, but nothing happened. His eyes snapped open and he gasped. His powers were gone! He felt his heart speed up, and gasped. What had happened to him? Where was he?

He tried to look around the area, but all he found was what looked like some communicator. He picked it up slowly and turned it over in his hands. ‘Use this’, oh yeah, that was useful alright. He wanted to roll his eyes, but knew that he had to get some information, and if this was what he thought it was. He’d use it.

His head was still throbbing as he stood up and powered the gadget in his hands up.

FIRST PERSON:
This is not fair! I was so close. We were going home, and now... Where am I? This isn’t New York, and it’s definitely not California. Did that thing mess up again? Am I still in the future? Oh god… Is this Bishop’s doing? Stryfe? Apocalypse?

Okay Josh.. Calm down. Focus! Use what you’ve been taught.

My name is Elixir. Members of X-Force, if you’re here, contact me.
NOTES:
- Due to the psychic knowledge taught to him by the Stepford Cuckoos using the knowledge of Beast. Elixir now possesses Genius-level understanding of human anatomy, physiology and biology.
- Josh is also bisexual, though he doesn’t broadcast it.
