Oh dear, it's been ages since I've been on here. I need to start coming back more often and actually writing things. I'm sure it would help in the long run both with my mental health and my PhD.
So new news: I started a new diet and exercise programme and lost another stone (14lbs). Unfortunately due to illness and depression I've not managed to stick to it. I must get back on it. I felt so much better when I was eating healthy and actually exercising. So my goal this week is to get back onto the programme.
Andy has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder type II:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bipolar_II_disorder. It explains a hell of a lot, particularly his mood swings. Some days he's happy and can do anything and is really fun to be around. Others, like the past week, he's very depressed. When he is depressed I can do nothing correctly and everyone is stupid. It's horrible to deal with but I know it's not actually me he's angry or frustrated with. He wants to have control of something in his life and he lashes out to try and take that control. It's tough to deal with and a lot like walking on egg shells around him. He is getting help, finally. He doesn't want to go on further medication. Being a doctor does have some disadvantages in that regard as he knows what medication he would need and the nasty side effects that come with it. He is doing a course of Cognitive behaviour therapy which when he can manage the exercises that they set for him, his mood improves and he does get better. It will probably be years yet before he is capable of returning to work, but it's something.
I bought a car, insured it, taxed it and now it's sitting across from the flat. It's lovely. I've had to spend a bit of money on some things for it and need to take it down to the hardware store down the street to see if I can get a bulb for the internal light. But for the most part, all is well with it. Driving is getting easier and I'm contemplating signing up for some advanced driving courses. It would get my insurance reduced and would be helpful in eventually doing the ambulance response driving course in a few years. For those interested here's the advert for it.

I've been having interviews for various healthcare positions lately. While I get a lot of good and positive comments during the interview, I cannot seem to land a job. The NHS is difficult to break into, but once I'm in, I'm set and transferring between trusts or jobs becomes a lot easier.
Right 20 mins, and then I need to head out so I should wrap this up. Lots more to say and with luck I shall return again later this week to continue.
