Once again, I haven't posted in a while. I think it's a combination of not feeling up to it, and also, not being terribly interesting lately. (:
So, the most interesting thing I've done is taken up Tai Chi. I did a bit of it in the past, and at school, and I've been meaning to get back to it eventually (just like a whole bunch of other things). So now that my brother-in-law, who teaches Tai chi, is living in Australia again, I sort of had no excuse to put it off any longer.
I'm really enjoying it, especially the mental parts, and I find that it complements my other martial arts really well. My boxing has improved a lot just by relaxing, tai chi style.
You can now stop reading, if you don't want to be spammed by the details of my brother-in-law's Tai Chi school... (:
If you are interested in learning Tai chi, he's looking for new students, and you should follow the link to the
Willow Tree School of Tai Chi for contact details. As well as private lessons, he also teaches groups at the Shaolin Martial Arts College in Preston (Mondays 5-6pm and Saturdays 9.30-10.30am). First lesson's free, so you don't have to commit to anything up front. Also, if you're already learning Tai Chi, and you're interested in weapons sparring and/or push hands practice, he'd love to hear from you.
We now return you to your regular scheduled programming...
