Sasori = crosshatching hell
Yet another progress report on the Sasori pic I'm working on, this time with a new screen shot. :)
Linework is more or less there although I may tweak a few minor details. Also colorblocked, although I haven't decided what coloring style I'll go with. I have an idea for the background but need to refine it further. I'm also thinking of making a wallpaper out of it as well.

As the title of this post suggests, I'm in curvy cable crosshatching hell right now. I have a fondness for finer detail work in art, but I sometimes lack patience when it comes time to executing it myself. I also just realized while looking at the manga for reference that Sasori's outfit isn't totally accurate to the original design, but really, tighter pants on sexy puppet dudes are better than baggier pants, aren't they? XD
I've got my KakaSaku pic idea more or less nailed down, and I just realized that I'm going to have to get started on it very soon because it's going to probably have more of that time consuming detail work.
I was working on a Paint rough of Neuro, but it came out rather crappy, so I abandoned it. I'm quite fond of the distorted perspectives used in the Neuro manga; the manga is overall great, and it's really so much better than the anime. It's almost like a Vertigo comic for adolescent boys at times! It's a pity it isn't more popular; perhaps the art style is too distorted/grotesque to appeal to the pretty boy fans, and it's not really ship fodder (although I'm one of the lone voices in the wilderness supporting HiguchixYako over NeuroxYako.)
I think I'm going to switch to doing oekaki bbs-style pics in SAI, because these Paint roughs can be a little too time consuming for what I end up with in the end.
