[And a short while after this entry, Katie finally takes a break from vandalising Capell's old wall.]

Are you drowning?

[Same tone of voice she'd ask about the weather, really.]

[That's not an answer, Mr The Stampede. Headtilt.]

You're a very silly man.

I hope you don't run into any sharks out there.

[Wait...]

What's a shark?

It's a big fish that lives in the ocean. It has a suit and lots and lots of teeth and an axe, and it likes the colour red.

Ahaha, they do? Maybe we can get along then.

Maybe. Should you really be talking to people while you're out there? [Swimming takes effort, man :|]

Ahaha, well, maybe we can talk things out. [No, Vash doesn't notice. As he's not really looking too closely at the journal as he talks. Trying to figure out why the shore seems to be getting farther away. Stupid current.

And that MIGHT be a tiny speck of red, way the heck out there.]

Sharks don't speak English.

D'you like sandcastles?

[What? Totally awesome subject change. Never mind the fact she's decided to make one.]

Yeah, sure they can be fun. [When you're not busy drowning.]

If you were the king of a sandcastle, what kind of sandcastle would you have?

[Sandcastles and not-drowning have more in common than you'd think.]
