[War, earthquakes, rain of monsters, and then being human for a week, he had hoped that slight grinding noise he was hearing in his prosthetic arm would have been repaired. No such luck. In fact, it seems like it might have gotten a little worse. The response time seems a little slow, which isn’t good for a quick draw expert ( Read more... )

[Upon hearing her name Winry gets up from her work bench. Placing her goggles on a counter, she meets Vash.]

I'm in.

Ah, hello, my name is Vash. I'm not sure if you remember, but we spoke awhile go and I remember you saying you worked a bit with prosthetics? I was wondering if you could take a look at something for me.

[Winry does faintly remember - Oh gosh. Someone is coming to her because they know she works with prosthetic limbs. C-could this really be? Does she get to work on prosthetic from another world? A smile spreads across her face, and her eyes light up.]

I'd be happy to!

Well, uh, it may be a little advance, but I think something has come lose and I just can't seem to fix it on my own. [Okay, for his planet it's probably one of the most advance things left. He has no idea what Winry usually works with. At least he removed the spare gun before coming down here?]

[Advanced? Now that is what she likes to hear!]

Come in the back to my work bench. Unless you'd rather sit on the couch? The latter is more public.

The work bench is fine. [Yes, someone is shy about all this.]

Follow me. [Winry walks to the back of the smithy, like she's done this a hundred times. Which she has, but not here.]

Sorry for lack of better picture goldenglasses August 24 2010, 16:22:49 UTC
[And Vash follows. A little nervous, after all, he's only had one man who ever tinkered and made his arms for him. He'll start removing the leather gloves and straps he keeps around the arm as they walk. The hand looks surprisingly real, but the arm certainly does not.]

It's okay. I've seen trigun before and researched a little before this thread crytearsofjoy August 24 2010, 17:05:27 UTC
[The realistic hand catches her eye, but the rest of the arm looks pretty basic. She wonders if his prosthetic works on the same principle as automail. Winry gestures at her bend for him to sit, and she ventures off to the side to collect her tools.]

Awesome, as I had no idea how to explain it. <_< *is just making crap up as I go* goldenglasses August 24 2010, 19:27:39 UTC
[He sits and flexes the arm. He winces at the grinding noise again. No turning back now he guesses.]

Oh, sounds like something is out of place. What did you do?

Well... actually I think something got lose during the war. [He used that arm to block more than he usually did.] I was going to fix it, but then there was that earthquake and I thought I heard something give a little more... and well... then there were monsters all over the place and - [I turned human for a week and had a real arm] it's just gotten worse.

Hmm, you might have multiple problems then. Do you just want this looked at, or would you like me to fashion you something new?

Could you see if you could just fix the problem? I'm... kinda fond of this one. [Like how he can hide another gun inside of it. Sorry, but he still doesn't know anything about your skills in this area.]

Sure thing. [Her response is quick and efficient. Work Mode is on, and nothing exists out of this space as of this moment. Winry studies the arm for a few more moments before whipping out a screw driver. She'll have to remove one of the outer plates to work on the inside. Without another word she moves on to that, gaze focused and calculating.]

Seeing as nothing is broken on the outside the damage shouldn't be too severe. You've probably knocked a gear loose, or something of the like. I'll be checking the whole arm just in case. If the damage is worse than I expect, I'll be able to salvage some parts from a prototype of mine.

The whole arm? [He's a little uneasy, not use to having someone he hardly knows poking at him.] Better safe than sorry I guess.

You're working on a prototype? [Maybe this was a good idea after all. She seems to really know what she's doing.]
