[Yeah, she's pretty focused and - completely surrounded by water. So it's going to take her a few moments to notice that you're there. In the meantime, you get to watch those tendrils of water shooting up and out in response to her arm movements, coiling and quick.

But eventually her instincts prick and she spots you. She gathers the water into a single stream by circling around and then dumps the whole thing back in the river.] Hey, Vash! What's up?

Oh! That's nothing to be sorry about. [A quick, private smile because - because she's been thinking about this a lot.] There are a lot of people who weren't there, but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't have wished me a happy birthday if they could. The same goes for you! It's the thought that counts.
