South Carolina - Sept. 3rd - Sept 5th. My sister's ARMY Basic Training graduation.
Sept. 3rd: We all wake up at 9am. We get ready. My hubby, Li'l Paul, and I leave to go to Athens to see Bonnie (my "2nd mom"). We spend some time with her for a few hours. At 2pm, we pick up Gabe (Prissy's current bf). Gabe is in the Marines. He's 18, and shy. We we headed towards Greensboro, cause my mom, cristina, and my daughter and neice are meeting up there. We catch up with them and ride together to Columbia SC. It didn't take up long. Probably took us about 3 hours to get there. We got our hotel rooms, needless to say i paid for 2 rooms for 2 nights. We settled in and just chilled for the night. My sister called me later on that night saying that she'll be graduating on Thursday instead of Friday, because of Hurricane Hanna.
Sept. 4th:My sister graduates Basic Training from Fort Jackson. I took video and pics. so i'm hoping to put those up soon! After the ceremony, she was allowed to leave the Fort until 8pm. So, we went back to the hotel to rest for an hour, and then we headed to Columbia Place Mall. We ate at Picadilly Cafeteria. It was okay... After that, we walked around the mall for about 2 hours. In the Mall we went our separate ways, buying things, window shopping... taking pics. We headed back to the hotel for another 3 hours of resting... At around 6pm, we decided to go on the base to look around. We ended up going to the PX store. We ate burger king and shop for souveniours (sp?).. 8pm came by too quick. We dropped off Prissy at her barracks. She started to cry. I told her not to worry about anything. She made the right decision in her life. I told her that I will see her in Virginia to watch her graduate from AIT (school). As we got back to the hotel, she texted me saying that family and friends can come see their soldiers leave in the morning. I told her that I would love to see her. She told me to be at base before 6am. So, that I did. I asked Gabe if he wanted to go and he said yes.
Sept 5th: He and I woke up at 5am, and got ready. Only he and I went to see Prissy. We got there at 545am, and stayed with her til 830am. We even stayed while she was on the bus waiting for it to leave, but Gabe and I were outside her bus waving to her. But before she got on the bus, she cried again. And again, I had to reassure her that I would be there in Virginia to watch her graduate. After her bus left, Gabe and I went back to the hotel to wake up the others and begin packing to go back home. yay.
we got home around 3pm. It was great being home.. But I miss my sister so much. I'm so proud of her.
well, i gotta go.... i hear stuff falling, so i'm guessing vicky is doing something mischeivous...
