continuation...again...
OK, little bathroom break...hehe.
The long 4th of July weekend was so much fun. I really had a great time. It was very family oriented and relaxing which is what we needed after all that moving. And the FOOD...lol...we ate so much!
Let's see, on Saturday we went to Sharon's pool. It was me, Tzvika, Estee, Natan, & Ofer. Sharon had to leave, but came back later. The weather was gorgeous! The pool there is huge and so nice. It was great to actually swim cuz the ocean has been freezing...lol. We all layed out and got nice and tan. Tzvika, Natan, & Ofer played some tennis on the court nearby. It was way too hot for us girls...hehe. We had ice cream from the truck that came by like every half hour, and we ordered pizza by the pool. For a minute, it felt like we were at a resort on vacation...hehe. That night we went for dinner at the Lebanese restaurant & their Safta joined us. The food is always so good there. We ate a lot! Afterwards, we went to see Spiderman 2 with cousin Estee. I think that Estee & Estee really loved it. Tzvika & I only liked it. It was just that we expected so much more from it from all the hype we were hearing about it. We were so excited about seeing this movie, but it just wasn't the best superhero movie ever made that we thought it was gonna be. It was good though. It didn't help that I was fighting to stay awake toward the end. I mean, I was struggling so hard to keep my eyes open! It was late & with everything going on, I was just so exhausted. Tzvika liked the first Spiderman better. I'm torn between the 2. I like both. I just don't absolutely love either of them...lol. I really like the soundtrack though.
So, on July 4th we went over for a big BBQ with everyone. I started eating as soon as I got there and I think that I never stopped...lol. The food was so good. I can't say enough about the shrimp I had & garlic bread, and then the rack of lamb and ribs. I usually don't eat so much meat, but it was so delicious that I kept wanting more! The potato salad was great and the tahini as always was my favorite. We also had yummy salad and baba ganoush which I love. Oh, and Monica's friend made these brownies that were out of this world yummy. I even had a little of Tzvika's apple pie...lol.
Then we took Ofer to see the new apartment real quick. After all the food...lol...we lit sparklers. I always lit sparklers growing up, so that was cool. Then we walked to Mike's friend's house to see them light fireworks. Never really saw them so close before. It was cool. We walked to the school as well and saw some more fireworks & some really pretty ones in the distance. After, we went back to the house and watched 4th of July stuff on tv and had fun laughing at everything..hehe. It was a good day and night.
Monday the weather was yucky. It was so hot and humid and there were torrential downpours every now and then...one of which we got stuck in while picking up Estee, Debi, & Estee. Estee dropped her Spiderman CD going to the car & we couldn't find it. We thought it went down her pants...lol...it was hilarious. Finally, we found it under the car! They went with us to go shopping. First we went to Freehold Mall. I really like it there. Maybe not as much as Menlo Park Mall, but I like it. They have so many things there. I finally got the little loop that I need to wear the pendant that Natan, Sharon, & Estee gave me for Chanakuh. Cousin Estee & I got stuff from the coffee shop & Tzvika got a pretzel. We took a look in the pet store there to begin our quest for a puppy. They were all adorable of course, but nothing really caught our eye or made us completely fall in love like the time we spent with this little blonde Shiba Inu puppy once at Menlo Park Mall. Ahhh, if only we met that puppy now. :( It broke my heart to leave him. Oh well.
Then we went to Pier 1 Imports to get some decorating ideas, but we didn't buy anything there. Afterwards, we went shopping at Wegman's & got a lot of things we needed & some yummy extras. I really like Wegman's a lot. I just have to get used to where everything is...lol. Finally, we went for ice cream at Cold Stone...my favorite place. They ran out of peanut butter cups, and I was disappointed. The girl was like so sorry and kept saying it...lol. I got butterfingers instead and I have to say it was almost as good..hehe. We then took the girls back to see the apartment. We had a lot of fun playing Taboo! It was sooo funny. The girls beat Tzvika & I. It was close though...lol. Then Tzvika took cousin Estee & Debi home, and Estee & I stayed behind to start dinner. I made garlic mashed potatoes and Tzvika made chicken breasts in white wine, lemon, & butter with mozzerella, sliced tomato, and spinach. It was delicious! I hope that Estee enjoyed it. :D It was our first time cooking together in our new place. Good times. <3
Anyway, I'm done blabbing...lol. I need to start some work. I'm behind on a lot cuz we didn't have internet for so many days. I have to get cracking. See you all later! ;)
