The nameless restlessness of the day had turned into something different now that the day was done, but he was still far from anything resembling comforted. The burst of relief that had come when the word reached him that
Conrad had returned had vanished under anger at the unease that had kept him from joining those that had rushed to greet the men coming home. Instead, he kept his distance, and if he were noticed the stormy look on his face seemed to keep anyone from getting close.
That was well enough, but the idea of going back to the room he shared with Yuuri, to hear his fiance's enthusiasm over the news--or worse, to discover that Yuuri chose to spend this night elsewhere--was something he couldn't face right now.
Instead, he found himself wandering the halls aimlessly, as the hour grew later.
