Yuuri shoved me into bed and left. I lay there for a minute, thoughtlessly watching his bare back as he went. Then, a moment longer, the thought of sleep tempting. But, I couldn't get comfortable, feeling the grit and dirt still covering my skin. I pushed reluctantly out of the nest of blankets that seemed to try and keep me trapped in the bed

*The door opens a crack, and a shaft of bright light falls into the room. It's Cheri, who has come to get Wolf ready for the party. She is wearing a long robe that conceals her costume

::An angry growling noise emerges from the blankets, then a grumble that sounds suspiciously like the name Yuuri. He wriggles a bit, freeing his mouth from the covers, but not yet opening his eyes.:: You said everything would look better in the morning, but I don't want to look.

::He yawns, then opens his eyes lazily. It seems to take a minute before he realizes that it isn't Yuuri in the bed with him, and that it's dark. His eyes fly wide and his hands flail for a moment before he realizes that he's still covered by the blankets. His cheeks are slightly darker in the faint light, and would be red if it were bright enough to see that.::

Hahaue. What are you doing here?

I just...*hides a smile* came to check on you, sweetie. I heard you were in an accident in the kitchen. Are you all right? You've been sleeping since late last night.

Late last night? ::He pushes himself up, careful to make sure he's at least moderately covered by the blankets. Glancing around the room, he sees that Yuuri isn't there, and his expression changes slightly, the line of his jaw tightening.::

I'll be fine. ::He looks at her and offers faint, not really reassuring, smile.:: I need a bath, and my foot is still a little sore, but otherwise I'm okay. ::Noticing the robe she wears, he frowns a little.:: You didn't interrupt anything to come here and check on me, did you? I'm really okay, Hahaue.

*Cheri immediately notices the way Wolf has tensed, and she fights back a smile. Instead she tucks a wayward strand of hair out of Wolfram's eyes.*

Are you sure, darling? I was very worried about you. I also heard Greta -- er, Gretas? -- were missing...I'm glad everything seems to be better now. ♥

I was about to have dinner with some foreign dignitaries. I do believe they're distantly related to the von Bielefelds. They'd love to chat with you...are you feeling well enough to join us?

Yes, the girls were missing. ::He frowns thoughtfully as he continues.:: It seems they were taken to Yuuri's world through the fountain. I hadn't thought about it, but it might be a good idea to keep anyone from getting too close to it for a while.

Relatives of the von Bielefelds? I.. Well, yes, I suppose I could. ::He glances around one more time, as though Yuuri will have suddenly appeared while they sat there talking.:: I need to wash up and find some clothes first....

Oh, I'm glad! ♥ I wanted to let you sleep as long as possible, so I had a maid draw a private bath and lay some nice new things out for you already.

*She looks down next to her and tweaks one of Wolfram's feet very gently with her fingers.*

Will you need help getting around?

You did? ::He blinks in surprise and suddenly looks vaguely concerned.:: Have they been waiting for a long time then? You know it's not a good idea to keep important visitors waiting...

::He pulls his foot back quickly from her fingers, biting his lip to keep from laughing at the ticklish sensation.:: No, I'm fine to walk. It's just a twinge, nothing to worry about. Gisela has already seen to it.

Of course, darling. I've arranged for us to begin at eight-thirty, so you still have some time. Don't rush, you need to be careful with your foot.

*She smiles at him lovingly, then leans over and kisses his forehead.*
