I am a bad dude.

In response to Adrienne's feminism rant...The best way to fight the patriarchy is to come over here and do my laundry. Then you'll hafta make out with me because the laundry gets me hot. You might think that motherhood is difficult, and I'll agree, but I have done you and your vagina-having cohorts one better: I rescued the President from ninjas in ( Read more... )

I'm going to tell you this because I don't feel like getting bitched at by the person in question...
Your friend Adrienne is one angry angry person.
wow.
I'm half tempted to write a response myself, but I'm busy making brownies for Toby at the moment. (Take that, angry feminist!)

I love both Adrienne and Feminism, just not as much as I love kitties and literature. It's pretty close, though.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You're married to Toby! I know him. But guess what? You don't know me and actually I am rather serene and baking brownies does not disqualify you from feminism. I'm not angry, I'm aware and acknowledge that there are things that need to be done around this culture. Thank you for being judgemental.

I love you too Jeremy! But not as much as kitties and mud wrestling. Oh gee, ok...as much as mud wrestling.

Thanks, Tiger. I'm glad to be on a par with mud wrestling. Here are some things that you are equal to: Jumping Rope, The movies "Swing Kids" and "Godzilla vs Rodan," transcendental meditation, saltine crackers, Moracco, Guam, Las Vegas, Los Lobos, Italian Ice, the Buckwheat Festival, and Mr. Harrison Ford.

When can I expect you over for the laundry and the making out? I'll light some candles and put on a latin mambo record if you want to be classy about it. And you'll be pleased to note that I'm no longer infected.

You're welcome.
Although judgemental and observant aren't quite the same thing in my mind.

Serene... right.

If you were serene would you have replied to a comment that was not really directed at you, and in such an angry manner? Probably not. Oh well.

"Take that, angry feminist!"

Do you believe that you "know" someone well enough to make an observation about them through two LJ posts? That's laughable.

Jeremy and I are going bowling now. Goodbye.

Have you ever heard of sarcasm? I know it doesn't work well on the internet, but if you know Jeremy then you should have some idea of my sense of humour. I put that comment here for this exact reason, actually. I don't know you, and I wasn't sure how you'd take that. I figured my cousin would take it as it was meant- a lighthearted comment about the fact that you seemed angry, and a sarcastic reply because I'm now in the "married" category. Sheesh.

I don't need to "know" anything about you to make an observation. I wasn't being mean or anything, I merely said that you seemed very angry. And you keep proving me right.

Have fun with the bowling- I hope you lighten up a bit.

ps- What's with the insane laughter up there? I forgot to ask earlier... Is Toby an amusing thing? hm.

I would first like to direct you to my last comment on that thread... http://www.livejournal.com/users/aisforadrienne/25151.html?thread=13119#t13119

There's the context. If you think anyone ought to lighten up about sexual assault and domestic violence, that's your business. I know and respect a lot of married women and feminists. You're not in a "married" category unless you choose to be. I haven't stereotyped you.

Nuance is a major lacking of this medium. My apologies. I received a lot of feedback on that post that was misguided only by my not disclosing its true context and writing in a general way (see link above).

Above all, this has definitely exhausted itself for me. Being Jeremy's cousin, I'm sure you are nice person, however strange (though I'm not sure how many of those odd genes were left after Jeremy). Toby and I enjoyed a brief theatre acquaintance.

Goodnight. Be well.
