I cannot wait to see the Hunger Games. What annoys me the most about it in general, is all the political crap that is going on around it.

Also, some of the characters don't fit the way I imagined them. Peeta and Gale don't look like I thought they would. Katniss I always thought of as Darker and, though Lenny Kravitz is going to be amazing as Cinna, I can' picture him looking like that at all from the books. *grin*

But I'm hoping to geto see it. I might find out if someone can watch the kids for me maybe tomorrow afternoon. *grin* Or I'll just wait until the husband gets back.

*flails* I miss you on LJ!

Aw shucks thanks you! I'm so spasmodic on LJ but I really do love the outlet it gives me so I'm gonna update more often. Good break from baby-land, right!

See I'm okay with the casting of Katniss, she has the right kind of beauty and toughness and really I can't fault her performance. Gale is fine for me, I pictured him like that but I have one gripe about Peeta (Josh) which is probably very unfair and unfounded of me...I find him too short :( I can't remember if he is short in the books? But I'm a sucker for a tall guy - so sue me. His face sure is pretty tho :)

And Lenny? Well Lenny is a rock god and can do no wrong (except for his very strange belly button - google it, or don't if you don't want the mental image) so he is good by me.

ps - what's the political crap going on around it? I'm out of the loop!

Eh, it's less crap and more just every side of every debate is grabbing it and saying that it totally stands for them.

Johnny Depp in 21 Jumpstreet was my one of my first celebrity crushes. I still kind of adore him just for that. My daughter saw the movie and said it was really funny, but she doesn't know the 21 Jumpstreet that I do. *sigh*

Hunger Games was fantastic. Can't wait for Catching Fire.

Oh yay - I'm glad I'm not the only one nostalgic about the old 21 Jumpstreet - *sigh* I'll always see Johnny as Tom Hanson :)

I loved Hunger Games too, they did such a great job. It's gonna be a looooong wait for the next one :( Have you read the series? What did you think of the books?

I have read the books and loved them. As soon as I finished Hunger Games, I had to go right out and buy Catching Fire; Mockingjay is the only book outside of Harry Potter that I've ever gone and stood in line at a midnight release for, and then stayed up all night reading it. You've read them all, haven't you? I thought they were tragic and beautiful.

Yep I devoured them in the same way - THG and Catching Fire were just awesome but I was a bit disappointed with Mockingjay - only because I wanted a happier ending :) But I got it, it didn't really make sense for it to be too happy. It's just that I felt like it got a little 'rocks fall everybody dies' ish (Deathly Hallows deja vu...) but eh, still the best series I've read since HP.

I've gotta see The Hunger Games eventually, but I'm so bad about catching movies while they're still in cinemas, haha.

I've never seen the original 21 Jump Street, but I was always under the impression that it was a drama, so I was surprised to see the new version marketed as a sort of buddy-cop comedy...

Yea it was a drama with a little comedy in there sometimes but more just as an extension of the characters. Looking back, I'm not sure how good it actually was but I'll always have a soft spot for it because it was one of the first series I followed. It kinda followed that 80's formula of their being a moral to the story every episode. There's a few eps on youtube I think?

YES you gotta see the Hunger Games. I haven't met anyone who doesn't like it yet x
