OSCARS....Loved that Sandra won and Kathryn B (seriously?the first female director to ever win??) And my best dressed of the night was....drum roll...Miley Cyrus! I know right..what the! But I loved her dress and hair, the colour and the accesories...perfect imho.
Am posting my HHR fic 'Between the Shadow and the Soul" from the hghpficexchange over at Portkey...eek I always get nervous posting at PK, I don't know why really. Guess it's that some reviews over there are harsh which is a bit lame of me...probably a good sign that I need to Get Over Myself if I ever want to be a writer. In other news, I have finally come to terms with the fact that I am never going to be good at going to the gym. Instead I should just do social sports, which I do twice a week, yoga, which I do most mornings if I'm being good, and random little dance classes etc for fun. I feel so grown up for coming to that conclusion!
But it's funny because my latest 'random dance class' is POLEDANCING! haha omg it's hilarious. A few friends and I are doing a four week course...worst thing is that they tell me I'm a natural at it! I figure...that can't be good. haha..all a bit of a laugh. And god, it's hard work! Aching muscles all over for days! Strippers must be fit. That is possibly one of the weirdest things I've written on my LJ. Which for me is saying something.

01. The first character I fell in love with: Actually it was Dumbledore. I loved how silly he was but how wise he could also be. Unfortunately that all changed...
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Hermione. She actually irritated me to begin with, being a nerdy swot like my big sister :) But now I luff her ♥ And so does Harry, in my opinion haha
03. The character (most) everyone else loves that I don't: Ron. There's things I dig about him, for sure, and I'd definately be his friend. But he's a tantrum thrower and a little disloyal and frankly, at times, he's a bit of a tosser. And definately not right for our Hermione :(
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Hmm..that's tough coz I don't know who 'everyone hates' but I actually always ..well I didnt LOVE him but always respected Snape and that never wavered. I totally knew that he hadn't betrayed Dumbledore and that he was truly good. I had no idea he was in love with Lily tho, and that was probably my favourite surprise in the books - I cried.
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Dumbledore. I still love him but he started out so beautiful and benevolent and JK killed that a little in my opinion. He became annoying when he started ignoring Harry in HBP - that was some kind of bullshit. The original Dumbledore of Philosophers stone would never have done that.
06. The character I would shag anytime: Sirius. I know I do write Harry as a sexy bitch but I have a secret Sirius thing, a kind of older man who used to be a bad boy crush going on. Hell yeah.
07. The character I want to be like: Hermione. I love her intelligence and her fierce loyalty. That's why I think she's too good for Ron.
08. The character I'd slap: Dumbledore when he was ignoring Harry. Ron when he left on the Horcrux Hunt (seriously Ron, I'm never forgiving you for that shit.) Harry when he forgot about Sirius' mirror. WTF
09. A pairing that I love: Harry/Hermione forever and ever ♥
10. Two pairings that I hate: Ahh this is goin to be a little obvious but...Harry/Ginny (especially after the sick-up-in-my-mouth-scenes in the HBP movie..)and Hermione/Ron. I can stomach H/G in the books (just) but putting Hermione with Ron was like a huge insult to the great character that JK had created. She is too intelligent for him! Oh, have I said that already
11. Favourite character: No I can't do it. Can't pick just one. All the obvious ones plus I love writing Luna and Hagrid too.
12. My six favourite characters: Okay this is more like it...Harry, Hermione, Luna, Hagrid, Dumbledore *pre HBP* aaand..Arthur Weasley. Oh I liked Tonks too - well to start with at least. JK killed her too -literally and figuratively. But she was cool to Harry. Teddy would prob be a favourite too if I knew more about him. I still sometimes fantasise that JKR will write another series around Teddy but I doubt it...it's not like she needs the cash! I bet she has some secret chapters on him lurking somewhere tho..
13. My five least favourite characters: Draco. He just didn't seem to have the depth of character to me that everyone else sees in him. Lupin - he was always a little wet imo and didn't help Harry enough. Umbridge. She was such a hideous cow in the book but I don't think they translated that well enough in the movie tho. Ron, douchebag. Petunia Dursley. Bitch.
14. Which character I am most like: Oh man! Good question. I'm seriously a mix. I know everone could say that but if I could be so indulgent I might say I'm a bit of Luna (dreamy, loyal), Hermione (nuturer, a thinker), Ron (lazy haha), Ginny (sporty) and Harry (brave I guess.) I could go on but I'm starting to sound like an asshole.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I love what literaryspell said to this question, it's exactly like me:
"I read the books and fanfic at the same time, so fanon and canon are inextricably linked in my head. I have to check canon facts all the time because I get it mixed up with things I've read in fanfic. I also sometimes have a hard time differentiating between the books and movies for small details because I watched and read at the same time. To me, there really is no canon (though I obviously follow it when I write; just, inside my head, it's all jumbled).
So true and well put my friend! I guess my secret is that um.. idk, maybe that I actually think that Harry and Luna are kinda cute together. That and the fact that I became a full on HHR shipper after the POA movie coz little DRad was so hot in it! (it 's all been going downhill from there tho :( Their chemistry in that movie is smokin hot but I don't tell people that because I'm a little too old and it makes me sound creepy as hell. haha
