Background Info:

History: Wikia Entry

Personality:

Beatrice The Golden. The Endless Witch. The Witch of Rokkenjima.

Beatrice has as many titles as the devil and has the potential to be nearly as evil. The level of her power and cruelty make her terrifying even to the witches and demons which occupy her world. She is said to have lived for a thousand years and in her immortality, has grown bored with simply watching the pageantry of mortals. She has taken to extracting amusement out of their suffering. Using her magic, she created a kind of game board with which to terrorize a certain family whom she felt would be the most entertaining. Among her array of skills, she can kill and revive a human as many times as necessary to drive the point home and, like a child with a room full of playthings, she broke them and repaired them without regard or regret.

This is the Beatrice that lives up to her frightening legend, but in reality, she is much more multifarious than others would like to believe. She can be as heartless as any demon and yet, she can be as elegant and considerate as a queen. When she is conjured as an ally, she lends concern to those who ask for her guidance. She speaks calmly and uses her magic to assist even in matters of the heart. To this effect, she had been summoned by the house maid, Shannon to gain the attention of George, the cherished son of the family she was in service to. Though such a gap in class would normally make the love impossible, Beatrice gave her a charm guaranteeing his affection if the girl would only destroy a mirror limiting her power.

To those that trust in her, she is majestic. She offers gifts and fixes things that have been destroyed. When she appeared to Maria, a child who devoutly believes in witches and mainly in Beatrice, the girl had been cruelly left in the rain by her mother. Beatrice offered her an umbrella and comforted her until her cousins came to her aid.

Finally, among those she trusts, she is childlike, almost jovial. She admits to liking sweets and tea and jokes with others, such as her butler and servants, openly and comfortably. Her teacher even remarks that she is naive, like a child with a power so large she cannot realize it.

It may be that she longs to be something distinct to everyone and the differing points of her personality support this. Though, because of this, it's hard to say who she really is or how she really feels at any given point in time. She's enigmatic and a little fickle, but it only serves to add to her lure and legend.

Game Specific:

Arcana: Magician

Justification: -Trickery: Beatrice is a master of trickery, priding herself on manipulating people to follow her whims however twisted. She derives joy out of planting little traps and laying in wait for them to come to fruition.

-Abuse of Power: She's said to be one of the most talented and powerful witches ever to practice, but she uses that power to torment others and amuse herself.

-Immaturity: Beatrice can be terribly childish. She's not above an antagonizing cackle when she has the upper hand or a selfish pout when things don't go her way.

First Person Sample:

[No sooner did she learn to use the thing, but she felt the need to abuse it a little. The video feed would flicker to life revealing a golden haired woman with the most peculiar amused expression.]

It's said that a single photograph of someone's face can steal a bit of that person's soul away. Well, I wonder how much of their soul is left after their image is displayed in real time about the whole town. Lucky for me, my soul is forfeit anyway. I digress. At any rate, I have some questions about this little game I've been transported to. Am I truly expected to work here; to live here as some common mortal? This isn't right at all. I'd like an explanation and patience simply isn't one of my virtues.

Third Person Sample:

From one island to another... Being held captive somewhere shouldn't bother Beatrice given her previous circumstances, but it was troubling. She had work to do, a game to play, a man to punish. Who now would give orders to her furniture? Who would challenge Battler? Would he ever understand? She shifted on the small, unfamiliar bed and gazed at the ceiling. This was ridiculous. She had so much power. Certainly she would have been able to fend off any magic that could transport her away from her duties. And yet, what could she do, now?

There had to be a way. If she could be taken, she could most definitely be returned. Rising from her bed, she wandered to the nearest window and threw open the curtain. She resolved to fight in what manner would get her home the quickest. "Very well, then. I will find my opponent and I will destroy him."
