Lavendar sugar cookies are nice with tea, too. And let's not even think about baklava...

There is a dessert that I like to think about eating.  Well, okay...there are several of those.  Or maybe hundreds.  But there's one in particular that's nice to *think* about, and that's lemon poppyseed loaf.  Something about the very light, soft texture, studded with the tiny crunch of the black seeds, the bright sweet-tart lemon flavour (especially when properly saturated with lemon syrup before slicing.) it's just such a lovely taste/texture combination.  Good by itself, and very nice with tea, too.  It's funny that we hardly ever have it.

I think I may have to make some, tomorrow.  If I can find some poppyseeds.  Well, I probably need to get some groceries tomorrow anyway.  I wonder if everyone would like pizza. Mushroom pizza...hmm...I think *I* want some.
