Ventriloquism isn't funny. It's vaguely unsettling and feels somehow unwholesome. And the dummy personas are always loathsome. It feels the same to me as watching someone talk to themself through a sock puppet. How does that seem anything but uncomfortably weird?
I guess I just don't like ventriloquism. Might as well leave it at that. (I also didn't like any kids' show with puppets, like that one with Lambchop. I also didn't like Finnegan on Mr. Dressup...though I don't think Ernie Coombs was actually doing ventriloquism. Was he?) Heck, I don't even like the Muppets, and that definitely isn't ventriloquism. Puppets just = UGH.
