Summary: Is Eiji the one Oishi's been waiting for? [Part 5/10 of a Nick Cave inspired drabble series]
As soon as he felt him coming down the street through their synchro link, he knew something was wrong. He could feel Eiji was grieving over something. Eiji knew where to find him, he always did.
Oishi got up from where he was sitting at his desk and walked downstairs to open the front door even before the redhead got anywhere near it. Unfortunately for Oishi, he didn't expect to see Eiji like that, wrapped in a coat, with tears in his eyes.
"Eiji, what's wrong?" He asked in genuine concern as he let the redhead through.
"Oishi..." Was all he managed to say between sobs, before breaking down in Oishi's embrace. The raven haired youth helped him to take off his coat, which Eiji threw on the floor. Somehow, Oishi felt he was sort of expecting it. It felt like...destiny, maybe? But was this how he was supposed to appear? Was Eiji the one Oishi had been waiting for?
He comforted Eiji as he cried in his arms, and thought all would be revealed in time.
"Shh, Eiji, it's okay..." He led him to his room, and sat by his side. Eiji leaned against Oishi's shoulders. "Cry all you want... I'll be here... I'll always be here."
"I'm lonely, Oishi. I don't want to be lonely anymore."
"Lonely? Why? Did something happen between you and Fuji?" He asked in the sweetest voice.
"I'm lonely because I love you and Fuji left." Oishi froze for a second but smiled at Eiji. He looked out his window, through all the wars in the world, to the storm in the sky, seeking and answer. And yet, deep down, he had been expecting that moment. He knew. The stars had their moment before dying. This confusion and grief was the moment, and it was dying, giving place to something else.
"...A wise man once said, "he who seeks finds and who knocks will be let in". You saught love, you found me. You knocked at my heart, I'll let you in. My door's always open for you." A tender touch, a carress, a kiss. It felt like everything was antecipating that moment, that ultimate moment of mutual understanding and simmilar feelings.
Was he the one he had been waiting for?
Yes.
