Not that I needed an excuse to like Neil Gaiman, anyway.

I don't remember the first time I learned that Neil Gaiman was Jewish, but I do remember that it hadn't occurred to me before. I mean, you read most Michael Chabon, and it's pretty obvious. (Summerland is the least obvious, and my favorite. The two may be connected.) There's not much in Gaiman's novels and stories to suggest any particular ethnic or religious background--

Except the sense of humor. And when I found out Neil Gaiman was Jewish, I thought, "No wonder I like him so much."

It doesn't matter, especially. But it made things that make a little more sense.
