So I tried out for the staged reading of a friend's (well, a guy I know; semantics) playwriting thesis yesterday. Probably thirty-some people trying out for two roles, and probably two-thirds women. The odds of me getting the part? Pretty slim. But I figured, hey, worth a shot; I auditioned, and they were like, Make sure you write your phone down so we can call you tonight when the casting's decided.
You get a phone call either way, generally (unless it's for an a capella group, since they do crazy mass tryouts). But they didn't call, so I thought, fine, maybe they're taking their time about it.
And today (just now, actually) I get an email. "Announcing the cast...!" Which, obviously, not including me. "But thank you to everyone who auditioned!"
Dude, whatever. I am at the very least worth a phone call.
