Two Emily updates

Jun 13, 2008 21:19

Yesterday morning (June 12):

Good news, her heart is OK. Pray for her brain.

8:30 this morning. The cardiologist had been in to see Emily, and was greatly encouraged by her progress. He said the heart had no arrhythmia , blood pressure was excellent, and overall Emily showed cardiac improvement. Praise God. He couldn't address the neurological issues, (if there are any), but said from a cardio standpoint, it looked good.

This morning (June 13):

Emily is in stable condition and her heart has improved. She is still on the ventilator, but she can breathe on her own. However, she does not swallow. The main focus now is that the brain function improves. They are doing tests but because she is sedated they cannot get the results they need to see how much damage was done to her brain because she was without oxygen for a period of time. They need to wait until after the 72 hours to take her off the drugs and see how she responds to the tests then. (7pm tonight is 72 hours) So these next eight or so hours are what will decide how much her brain will recover. Please Please PLEASE focus your mind on Emily in continual prayer that her brain will turn and corner and recover in these next few hours. You guys have all been great so far, all 706 of you. Now we just need to lift her up down the home stretch.

The "706" referenced is the number of members in the Pray for Emily facebook group, now at 864 members.

Keep praying.
