Ah, school. I don't feel like a senior, but through some crazy twist of time's magic, I am. Alas.
I've got a pretty good roster, though, excepting for my social studies teacher...but we'll get to that in a bit, because I'm going to bore you all with the rest of it, first.
1. Elementary Functions, Ms. Kulezha.
Or however her name is spelled. This should be an all right class, because from all accounts she's a great teacher (I've never had her before), and I'm reasonably good at math, as long as we spend more time on algebra-resembling things and less on geometry. Me + Geometry = Nonono. This is the second year in a row - and the third time overall - that I've had math first thing in the morning. Does Mr. Shields think I'm a morning person or something? Yeesh.
2. English, Ms. Reissman.
...she knows what she's talking about. I'm sure she'll be a good teacher. Whether I'll be able to withstand her political opinions being shoved down my throat, I don't know. She has an anti-Bush poster tacked up on her wall right near where I sit... I think I'm going to ask her to take it down, for no other reason than because I don't think I'll be able to concentrate with it there.
3. Fiction, Mr. Dunphy.
It's Dunphy, 'nuff said. He gave the same speech as he always does. I'm so happy it's only a half-year...
Advisory (lunch)
This is the only place where I'm going to see half the people I had so many classes with last year! ::sob:: I can't stand it...at least the ice cream machine's still there, though.
4. TV/Film thing, Mr. Kaufman
So, Mr. Kaufman, right? He used to work in Hollywood. Like, the Hollywood. And the entire class was like, "So why did you leave there to come here?" He says it's because he's from Philadelphia, but I don't believe him. He doesn't sound like he's from here at all, and he speaks quietly and veeeeery slowly, like he's thinking eeeeeevery word through before he says it. At least he seems to know what he's talking about.
5. Spanish 3, Ms. Espinosa
This one'll be fun. Apparently she's going to make us work pretty hard, and she terrified half the class with this prospect. Hopefully it'll be a smallish class of people who're willing to work hard. And if not, well...she sells candy. Plus it's Ms. Es, it has to be fun.
6. Playwriting, Ms. K-something.
Yeah, I don't remember her name, but that's ok. She has no experience as a playwriting teacher...I don't expect all that much, sigh.
7. UWA
Yes, UWA is seventh period now. In a way it makes more sense - Mr. Hecker says that this way if someone wants to drop it, they can just take seventh lunch - but it's a little annoying. Alas. I keep looking for Bryan or Amity or Nadine or Fallon or someone, and then I realize I'm the editor and then I get scared.
8. Social Studies, Mr. T. Landon.
That's how he had his name on the board. He scares me. Ms. Rosenthal's on sabbatical, so he's taking over, which would be ok, except he's like my American History teacher last year, Mr. Mitchell, except 20 years older. Trust me, this is not a good thing. On the upside, I have Gabbi in my class, so the time won't be entirely horrible. Entirely. I'd get a roster change, but the thing is that I really like my schedule except for that one class. Sigh. I'll endure.
I still don't feel like a senior.
