Updated Flist!

Today I have added a number of people to my friends list.  Hope you all don't mind !  I rarely post in my own journal but love to see what's going on with other LOTR-loving folk.  So I have shamelessly been adding friends of current friends.  If anyone doesn't wish to be friended, please let me know.  No offense will be taken, I assure you.

Middle-earth bath day? That has to be about the coolest thing I've ever heard! :)))) Maybe if I'm ever able to get up there, we could have a Middle-earth pool party :D

Of course I THOUGHT about taking photos. That's as far as it went *eyeroll*. I have a lovely collection of action figures. The entire Fellowship, a King of the Dead, Elrond, various elves, Eomer and Eowyn, Gollum, and assorted Frodos and Sams. Most of the reeeally tiny Armies of Middle-earth figures, which include my one and only King Theoden. Plus a Frodoll, a Bilbo doll and Galadriel. But no orcs.

Sing hey! for the bath at the end of the day. Or the middle of the day, hee hee!

Hehehe. If you make it up to Chicago to moot with Goldie, you MUST include me! I haven't been to visit her in a month of Sundays, and she and her Elf-lovin' hubby are wonderful. As are the cats. And there's this amazing little restaurant they've taken me to whenever I went up there...

What a great idea, mini-Moot! Especially since I don't think Seattle is in the cards for me this summer.

The owners of the Noodle have opened a second restaurant, serving Latin/Mexican food. And they have a full liquor license. Margaritas, anyone? :)

I love this idea! We should totally plan a mini-moot! Margaritas and food and hobbit talk! :)) What could be better? I could take the train up there, I imagine!

Mini-Moot, yay! I'll warn the hubby!

I'm around all summer except for the July 4 weekend. So, when is good for both of you?

What about the weekend after the fourth? (We'll have to tap Sayhello on the shoulder to remind her to come back to this conversation...I can't say that for 100 percent yet because I have this weird feeling like I've already promised to do something that weekend, but I can't seem to dig anything up!

Um, the weekend after the 4th *should* be OK... when were you thinking, day-wise? If you're thinking of, say Friday evening through Sunday or some such, I'll need to check with work about taking a half-day off or something, and see what's what as far as airfare goes. Southwest has some decent fares right now to Midway... this could be very cool.

Would I need to get a hotel room, or would you be able to accommodate both of us, Goldie? I seem to remember a twin bed in the guest room... :-)

This is all assuming it's OK with the Goldster... and work says OK (but they should!)

*ooooo*

I would think that weekend is okay still...I remembered what I was trying to remember about that weekend, that my sister might be coming down that weekend, but she's here for a wedding and I'd probably not see her much anyway. (And yes, I did mean the weekend AFTER the fourth, not anything within the fourth).

We have the guest room, and in the basement there is a futon sleeper sofa and also our old living room sofa, so you two could slumber party down there if you wish. :D Absolutely no need for hotel rooms, unless the cats freak you out!

Friday evening to Sunday would be great! The only thing about Midway is, it's a long taxi ride up my way from there, and the Edens expressway north of the city is under construction. So, getting to my place from there could be a hassle. I can check into trains into the Loop from Midway, and then north. The distance and construction are also factors in why I wouldn't drive there to pick up Frodo Baggins himself. ;)

OK, I'll look at O'Hare, also. It's usually just way cheaper for me to come into Midway, and I've never minded trains... but if it's that bad...! Would there be problems from O'Hare, or is it just Midway?

Do you have my work #? It might be easier if we set up a conference call, or chatted this evening (Claudia & I both have AIM). Lemme know. I should probably get going on flights iffen we're doing this!

Whee!

Tonight I'll be out kinda late. Midway actually has a subway/El connection into the Loop, and from there the Metra goes right up to Wilmette. So if the airfare is that much lower (and it usually is) you can get up my way with probably way less hassle than by car or cab.

I think I have IM via Comcast...not that I've ever used it.

Well, so far, Southwest Airlines into Midway is definitely winning.

Hmmm not sure what Comcast IM would be. We could always do this the old way & use the phone... I can access my work phone from home & do a 3-way conference call tonight. I know I have Claudia's cell phone number (assuming it hasn't changed) but I appear to have misplaced Goldie's...

Lemme know what you want to do. I have MSN IM and YIM and AIM, so I can fire up whichever works best, or we can do the conference call thing.

Oh, and would it be an issue getting back to Midway Sunday night via the trains & all?

I need to check out the website...

Oh, when you say the weekend after the 4th, do you mean the 5th & 6th? Or the 12th & 13th? I was thinking the latter... airfare higher for the holiday weekend...

I think Claudia meant the 12-13th, which would be good for me. The weekend of the 4th is my mom's 80th birthday. If I don't visit her I'll be drummed out of the family!
