Lions, Tigers and Pistons Oh my?

Ok, check this out... Red Wings, new coach, has the best record in the NHL, Pistons, new coach, has the best record in the NBA, Tigers, new coach, currently the best team in baseball, and guess who else has a new coach? The lions! Oh yeah! OK, so maybe having the best record hasn't faired too well for us once we get into the post season, but it's fun during the season, and that's longer than the playoffs anyway! It's been a lot of fun watching these Tigers play. They are playing great! Right now I'm watching the Tigers take on the Cubs. It's been one inning and we are already winning 6-0 thanks to three home runs.

I just spend the weekend with Pete. It was one of the best times I've had in awhile. For his birthday I wanted to take him on a mini vacation. We were going to go down to Greektown and stay at the Marriott in the RenCen. That turned out to be too much so instead we stayed at one a bit closer to home. Also got the romance package. That means that we had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne delivered to us. We went out to a great dinner at an italian steakhouse nearby. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds that I've slept in, in a long time. King size, warm duvet... just very very comfortable. We had a great time and I got to do a few things that I've never done before. We rented a movie in the hotel room, which cost $13 but what are you going to do... and we also ordered room service in the morning. With the package we got a free breakfast so we decided that we would go through and get it through room service. Eating breakfast in bed is great! I just had so much fun with Pete. It was nice to get away and not have to worry about anything, even if it was just a vacation in our own county.

Then on saturday we went back to my house and hung around all day. We watched the World cup game in which the USA tied Italy. I didn't think I would like watching it that much, but suprisingly I got into it quit a bit. Then we watched the Tigers beat the Cubs. Mainly Pete and I were just lazy all weekend and it was fantastic. We did go to the driving range though and hit some golf balls because he currently is going golfing with his dad for fathers day. He needed a little bit of practice.

Today I got up with Pete at 8 when he had to leave, and then went back to bed until 12. Oops! I guess I was a bit tired. I got up, got some food and cleaned out my car. I had so much junk in it. I have to take it into the chrysler dealership next week to have it checked out for my turn in. My lease is up on Oct 20th, so basically they tell me what needs to be fixed or else they'll charge me. I need to start figuring out what car I want to get also. I'm looking at the Ford Fusion. I really like that car, but I get the employee discount with Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep so I'm tempted to stick with them. But I also need something that is good for my money. Something that I can afford, and something where the insurance isn't too expensive.

Let's see, what else is new? I'm back to working 6 shifts a week at my restaurant. It's the same pain that I remember it being. People are just absolutely horrible. I've seen the most bitter of people and some of the nicest people also. It amazes me how different people are, and how rude some people can be. Then again, I've been working a long time, you would think by now I would be used to people being rude.

I also got to catch up with an old friend the other day, actually two, but one on accident. My friend Beth, who worked with me at Party City and Famous Footwear, was in town. She called me and we made plans to get together to have dinner this past wednesday. Well Wednesday morning I was working and I heard my name, and there she was standing up at the host stand at my restaurant. She was meeting another old friend, Kristen, for lunch. Kristen worked with us at PC also and she lived in the dorm next to mine my freshman year of college. She's actually engaged to an ex-boyfriend of mine, Joe. So I talked to the two of them for awhile and waited on them also. Then that night for dinner, Beth, her brother Charlie, and myself got together for dinner at Fridays. It was good to catch up and see old friends. We haven't really talked in years, so I had to remember what I've actually done in the last few years that might be exciting and worthy of talking about.

Pete and I also went and saw Wicked a few weeks ago down in Detroit at the Masonic Temple. It was great! I loved the musical. Just a really fun story that they came up with.

Well, I'm hungry... so I think I'm going to go get some food... not sure what I'll have, but something quick because I don't feel so well as it is.
