"A Throne of Wood" Teaser
Today I started my first fanfiction of 2007~! ♥ It's the next installment of The Calendar Suite and based on the tarot card of "The Empress". All I can say so far is that I'm having a fantastic time with the setting. Never fear, wordynessie, my muse is still in working order! (Surprisingly!) ;D
It's a drama/adventure with Neji and Tenten rushing to save a new mother and her child whose own uncle wants to kill them both. HOH YES, evil uncle appears. I really am having fun playing with that particular stereotype. Tenten gets to deliver a baby while Neji gets to run around for obscene amounts of time. All in all, I'm liking it so far. HEE HEE. ♥

There was no sound in the forest. Fireflies flickered in the darkness but no wind blew, no leaves whispered. The trees were holding their breath, poised for a single moment as their small, wooden world waited. Then it arrived, sweeping through the heavy branches with the sweet relief of an exhale. It wound through the tall, straight pines and caressed the old oaks and brought deer to a standstill, their ears swiveling.
A baby was crying.
