I NEED YOUR HELP
Breaking radio silence while I have computer access briefly for a quick question! I NEED YOU, FLIST, YOU ARE MY ONLY HOPE.
I am signed up for spn_meanttobe, which is that fic challenge where you pick a hilarious prompt that is an actual romance novel jacket summary and then turn it into a SPN or J2 fic (with a happy ending!). My prompt is:

Responding to a 911 call, Whitehorse Deputy Halley Robinson is stunned to find herself face-to-face with her teenage crush, Colton Chisholm. The schoolboy who had teased her is now a strong and sexy man-and he's on a mission to solve a case! But if he plans on unmasking a killer, he's going to need her help.
Colton can no longer run from the truth…someone in his small town has gotten away with murder. Now it's up to him to bring the killer to justice-with the help of local authorities, which, to his surprise, include Halley. The girl who had once idolized him is now a woman he must fight to resist. But as they work on the case, the attraction between them only grows stronger. Their rocky past may lead to a future together…unless the killer parts them forever.
For which I have been nursing a totally ridiculous Stanford-era idea for AGES because clearly this should be a SPN story where Dean goes to investigate a job in the greater San Francisco area - but it's okay, he's probably not even going to run into his brother - and walks into a police station pretending to be FBI to get some intel when WHO SHOULD BE SITTING AT THE FRONT DESK BUT SAM. Who is interning there or something because he's interested in criminal law and for the peanuts it pays and DEAN. DEAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE. >:I And it's the first time they've seen each other since Sam left and they are all shocked and then they make expressions at each other across the room from behind people's backs while both trying not to break character. And then they have to work together to solve the case! But they are also both struck by the ch-ch-changes that have come over their brother in the two-year absence from each others' lives. AND THEN ONE OR BOTH IS DREADFULLY IMPERILED BY THE CREATURE.
THE QUESTION IS, posting ends in two days and the time has come for HARD QUESTIONS because the fic in my mind is not one I can finish in that amount of time. But the challenge's minimum wordcount is 1k.
