I decided to dress up for halloween again this year. To my dismay, I was the ONLY one at work dressed up for this day. But at every turn, there was someone giggling or oooing at my catty cuteness. Actually, I got a few of my customers to laugh out loud. It was quite an accomplishment being that these hardworking remodeling contractors hardly even smirk let alone smile or laugh. I don't know if it was the fact that I was the only one dressed up or if I was so intently focused on my customers and being totally professional yet dressed as cat that tickled them so. Nevertheless, I was happy to make someone else laugh until they turned beet red. Another one of my regulars giggled then followed that up with an awesome lil' compliment. Really the day was full of compliments and good cheer. I passed out candy to everyone who came by. People are silly... and I love it.
The best part of my day came later in the evening. One of my coworkers was on his way out to lunch as I was on my way in to clockout for lunch. Anyhow, he was really happy to see me dressed up. He said he was going to do it as well but someone upset him and he decided not to. He said that I seeing me dressed up made him want to go home and get his costume on. Well, low and behold, when I saw him after lunch/dinner, he was dressed up in a shiny gold jumpsuit with an american flag inspired cape. He was the one and only ELVIS. Ohh... the sight was incredibly funny. We walked through the store making people laugh and giggle all the way. Some people meowed, hissed and growled while others started doing the Elvis pelvis move. It was great!! I love him! He's such a cool ol' guy.
I came home and was my mom's only trick-or-treater... or as my mom says it... "trrreek-o-trrreet". Haha.. I love her. I talked to her on the way home and asked her what her costume was today and she said "Nothing". I'm such a smartass... I replied, "Nothing?? Wow, mom that's an astonishing feat. You're freakin' Harry Houdini." Luckily, she laughed along with me.
So yeah, uneventful yet extremely enjoyable. I love halloween. I want a masquerade party some day.
