the best weekend ever... oh and the art exhibitions

What a nerve racking thing to go through. I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing to be honest. I felt so exposed. I think I'm more of an Emily Dickinson rather than a Salvador Dali. I don't know... I just... Its all just so frightening. To be up on display for the whole world (or at least the people there) to see... your soul baring itself in plain view. I don't think I like it. I don't mind the idea of people viewing my stuff online. There's a level of detachment there. I don't even mind the idea of showing artwork in a gallery as long as I don't have to be there to see people viewing and analyzing... comparing and forming an opinion.
The first show was in kind of an out of the way place. It doesn't seem like a lot of people venture to that area of town so I have to say that location was probably a deterant for most people. The people there were super nice though and there was interesting characters. The art was lovely. There were three or four pieces that I absolutely loved. One was a watercolor of the male form on wood. The other was airbrushed. And the last one was this lovely tree. I especially loved the tree. I think I could have looked at that tree for years and years. Its something that I would have liked to have in my bedroom so that I could gaze upon it in the wee hours of the morning or the kaliedoscope of lights just before dusk. It was truly serene. I think I would have like to have met her (the artist) and told her how much I loved it. It was wonderful.
The second show was great! Katie did a wonderful job organizing. There were so many people there. And of course, the ambience at The Sound was as awesome as could be. I was even more intimidated at this show because there were SO many wonderful artists. It seemed like most of it flowed together except for my stuff. I dunno... I guess I'm just super self conscious. Never the less, it was a wonderful time.
So... thats it about the shows. Now for the best part about this weekend, I have the coolest and bestest friends (and boyfriend) in the whole world. I'm serious. They are just awesome people. I am so blessed to have them all in my life. They supported me all the way. Kyle out did himself. It was just such a wonderous gift. I don't know how I will ever repay him or Jay for their kindness. I hadn't seen Kyle in about five years and Lisa in about two. They both look so great. Time doesn't change a thing about the intimacy and love that we have for one another. The only bad thing about this weekend is that it ended way too soon. I wanted more. Adam and Ben joined us as well. God I love those boys. I have so much love in my life. :)
