Mod Post

As most of you know, I put the community on moderated status for the time being due to the enormous amount of spam that has been hitting LJ lately. Not only are posts moderated, but new members are moderated as well. I have received a lot of new member requests lately and have noticed that the majority are newly created journals with either no posts or one post that is f-locked. I look at the profiles and see that none of those journals have any friends or other journals friended except for LJ Spotlight or LJ News.

Because of that I have rejected quite a few new member requests. I updated the rules page to include that any newly created LJ's with no posts or only one post that is f-locked and no one can view it will be rejected. I am not trying to say that a person who wants a completely f-locked journal has to have one of their posts visible, but those that are f-locked usually have a "friends only" banner visible on their profile or on their LJ's to show that the journal is active. I love the fact that this community is relatively drama free and I want to keep it that way. If I do reject someone and they are not a bot, those that I rejected are welcome to PM me and discuss why their request was rejected.

I am leaving this post public so that any prospective member can read it and see the rules located here.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
