I'd like to request Vegeta in saiyajin_pride. Also, I'm new to rp communities, so I'd like to know a bit about how they work, if you'll forgive my ignorance. Thanks!
Well, some RP journals are different. As for mine, if you've ever participated in a round-robin story, it's pretty much the same. One person tells part of the story, playing his or her own part the most, of course, and then someone else takes it from there and continues... It just keeps going that way...until everyone has had a turn and then starts over from the first person.
It's pretty fun and easy to do. One thing that we have to be sure of though, is not to do anything drastic with another person's character, such as have him/her killed off or do something outstandingly out of character, unless you have the player's permission, of course. NPCs, Non Player Characters, may be handled storywise by anyone, as long as they aren't killed off or anything too extreme like that. Notice how I was writing as my own character as well as Dende, who, right now is an NPC since we don't have anyone playing that particular character at the moment.
Pretty much, although, we already have a story going, so you will need to jump in with your character where ever you feel comfortable and go with the flow, so to speak.
You can work with the NPCs as long as no one else claims them as a character. You can have up to two different characters as your Player Characters, or PCs, but no made-up characters. For example, nothing like: "Son Abagial, daughter of Gokou...blah, blah". All characters MUST be from the anime/manga.
Basically NPC use is for helping the story along. ^_^

We've just been posting where it's conveniant, as long as everyone who is going to write, gets a turn. I normally feel that two weeks is enough time to wait to allow someone to post, if they are going to. So, feel free to jump right in. Don't forget to lj-cut your post though... People tend to forget that part. ^_^;

I hope this makes sense...

Start a story as your character. The other participants add to it. Then you pick up the thread again.
Don't kill anyone's character off. Don't get too crazy with NPCs.
Yes?
What are the rules about creating NPCs?
