In which your humble narrator pops back in and with a list of
10 GOOD THINGS
01.) Those people important to me are safe, healthy and not in the custody of the state. I have an income, a roof over my head, and sustenance. For these basic items, which should never be taken for granted, I remind myself to be grateful. After all, things could always be much worse and there is always the possibility for positive change in the future.
02.) Spent the weekend doing a whole lot of nothing with Miss K. It was heavenly! By a whole lot of nothing, I mean we went shopping on Saturday and stayed in all day on Sunday working on our respective class projects. She finished hers first, so she got the reward. My Flash project is going to take a bit longer. With the Guard season underway we haven't been able to get together as much as we would like, and when we are there is over-scheduling. It was great to have a low-key weekend together.
03.) Revised Wedding Plans continue to develop. In other words, she still has yet to come to her senses, which is a good thing for me.
04.) Speaking of the Flash class (see Item #3), I'm really getting into using the program. However, the precious snowflakes who are also taking the class are hating on me. I actually got angry glares and 'How are we supposed to follow that" after presenting my midterm project. I was hurt for a while, but then I got mad. Now I want to crush their gold-star-for-showing-up little selves and sign my final with "Suck it, bitches." But I won't, because that kind of hubris is quickly smacked down by the Fates.
I really want to though.
05.) Medzor just called me about the Qualifications for the Quiz Bowl. Once again, I will be on the team with he and some other teachers. We finished second last year (in spite of the Green Lantern Oath debacle) and hope to do better this year.
06.) Crap - I just reread those last two items. It sounds like I am developing an ego. I wonder how that happened.
07.) The Niece got accepted into my collegiate alma mater. I hope she has an easier time of it than I did and that she can make friends of the same caliber that I did.
08.) The Niece's Winter Guard Squad finished the season by placing fourth in the state for the second year in a row. They work their butts off all season and deserved a higher placing, but we are still proud of them. Next up is the International Finals later this week.
09.) A few weeks back the Little Red Pickup odometer rolled over 300,000 miles. Considering how I abuse (read; work) the poor thing, she's held up remarkably well.
10.) Today is payday.
