restless

Lying on my side in my bed, in my newly painted bedroom, I look into the small bathroom that must have once been a closet. The wall is a soothing, dark periwinkle blue, the exact color of the long purple shadows on the snow in the picture of Thorn and Frost leaping through the 24 inches that fell the January I moved to Charlottesville. The picture ( Read more... )

1. Is it really fair to say you failed? You did the best you could with what you had to work with at the time. What else could you have done?

2. I must cut loose from this job I have, the security it gives me--because the cost to me is too great, the soul drain and the creative suppression, the sheer number of hours spent trying to make the hours go faster, the in-company political maneuvering that makes me bitter and makes my bite my tongue, the incessant Thou Shalt Cover Thy Ass commandment. But I must be able to pay my bills, stand on my own, keep on keeping on (which isn't enough, I want to move toward better, not just survival).

This is exactly where I am right now, and it's terrifying. So, yes, courage. And moving one careful step at a time.

3. There are always going to be some of us who have your back, wherever you are and whatever you're doing. I hope you can keep that in mind, for whatever it's worth.

4. I saw a farming magazine at Books-a-Million last night which contained an article about raising pack goats. WORKING GOATS!

you have time.

i believe and have faith in you (and you kaydee pete.)

visualization is key.

i have landed a practical job that allows days spent with dogs on land as well as art making and friend having. the horses are just across our one lane off county road, yet SF is 90 minutes away.

i came back from literally running for my life, remember?

Visualization and intention are EVERYTHING.
allowing yourself to get what you want
and believing you deserve success are the hard parts.

Give yrself permission to do well, to do art, to be happy.
set if not goals then milestones for 6 mos, 1 yr, 5 yrs.

then you can follow your bliss but within a pragmatic structure that you can trust to ease you in to the life you are imagineering.

remember that hopi thing:

The Hopi Elders Speak

We Are the Ones
We've Been Waiting For

You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.

Now you must go back and tell the people that this is The Hour.

And there are things to be considered:

Where are you living?

What are you doing?

What are your relationships?

Are you in right relation?

Where is your water?

Know your garden.

It is time to speak your Truth.

Create your community. Be good to each other. And do not look outside yourself for the leader.

This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. See who is in there with you and celebrate.

At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves!

Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.

All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we've been waiting for.
