I was thinking....
...The president is like an orchestra leader, he doesn't make the music, but he hopes to influence it with his direction. The trick is to populate the orchestra with the most talented musicians he can find. After all, the music is only as good as the people playing it. What we have now is sections playing different sheet music. No way it will appeal to the listening audience. They will just get up and leave.
The way it is now, we have an 'all or none' system of government. The party in power chooses the problems and solutions to address and dismisses the rest. Wouldn't it be interesting to see what would happen if they combined their energy to create solutions (music). It won't ever happen because neither party will actually get credit for fixing something. Maybe a smaller orchestra....
