Notes on Kiric for castmates and other people, since I do think it's relevant!
- Kiric is coming from chapter 231. While I know most of the cast is still around 200, I needed to do this for the sake of making him playable. Having him in "driven determination pre-tournament" mode without knowing how things would turn out was driving him crazy and also making him really crazily judgmental of others. He appears to be more at ease with things in 231, and thus making him more playable with me. He informed Ikki of this in their first thread with each other once he was back.
- For the sake of further playability, Kiric will not be moving back into the treehouse. Having to know EVERYTHING HAPPENING EVER in the cast with this character was difficult, and by having him take over an empty cabin on camp, it means he can hermit a bit and it also means I don't have to pressure everyone to keep me constantly updated on things. Obviously, he should still know things, but I can feel a little less like I'm failing at stalking.
- I am playing him as having AT. If you look the shoes he wears in the tower scene are identical to the ones he wears as a youth. The heels with the wheels hidden inside, which tends to imply that he probably has some replacement sub-par regalia. This may be Joss'd by canon, but again, for the sake of playability, I am doing this. I will not have him fight with, say, Sora in camp, but I do want to be able to play him out as someone in the Air Gear world. Not being able to do that for months drove me crazy. I will ret-con accordingly if I'm wrong, and I'll be vague about whether they're sub-par. The only thing I'll probably do is have him sense if someone is sneaking up on him or what's going on in the ground around him.
- I will be cutting most of the ellipses out of his speech. The occasional one, but not as constantly. I showed this in the app, for the record. I got WAY too dependent on them for the sake of making what he said seem more epic. He does trail off for the sake of his speech sounding serious in the manga, but it was a bit much. I'm also going to be focusing on coherency when I write his replies, which I think will be easier without a bunch of ellipses in there. This is me checking myself. It got a little ??? when I was playing him near the end, and I don't know how I picked up that terrible habit. But in case anyone notices, that's why.
- The reason why he's hiding out (rather unsuccessfully, but that's camp) right is because of his last conversation with Ringo before he left camp. He told her to try and change, to be happy, to be more than him, to basically be with friends and so forth-which he all gave up for his own ambitions and obsessions because he's tied to the earth. (This thread made me cry the most in my drop post, sob.) He DOESN'T want to get in the way of that, but he cares a lot for Ringo and will be seeking her out soon.
