Weekly Discussion Suggestions
We'd like to remind everyone that we're currently looking for suggestions for our Discussion of the Week posts. If you have something Doctor/Rose related you'd like to see come up in our weekly discussions, please visit [this post] and drop us a comment with your suggestions. If your discussion is picked, you'll get credited as the contributor.
Our weekly discussions will be resuming shortly, now that Series 4 is over in the UK.
Graphics Contest
Like the Discussion of the Week, our Graphics Challenge will be resuming soon. The format of the challenge will be changing slightly. We'll be randomly selecting one episode every two weeks as the basis of the challenge. Picture prompts will be provided as always, but anything from that particular episode is fair game. The format of graphics requested will rotate between icons, banners/headers, and color bars.
Anyone, regardless of skill level, is encouraged and welcome to participate. This is all just for fun and you may even win a nifty banner for your user info. :D
Tagging
Again, it is supremely important that you remember to tag your posts. Tagging allows folks to search past posts to find what they are looking for. A full list of tags is is available [here]. If you have any questions as to what tags to use, please feel free to [contact the mods] and we'll be able to help you out.
Ficathon
Those of you who signed up for our Summer Fun Ficathon should have recieved your prompts last month. Remember - absolute final deadline for sending in your completed fic is August 13th. If you have any questions about the instructions we sent, or need to discuss anything relating to your assignment, please feel free to contact us via gmwmods@gmail.com.
SPOILERS
This has been a big problem recently, what with the finale causing an explosion of fic and graphics.
Please be sure to make cuts for any and all spoilers, including those pesky pairings spoilers. We'd also like to ask that you CLEARLY MARK pairings. The mods prefer the term "Ten II" when referring to the second/human Tenth Doctor. Terminology such as "fake!Ten" and "clone!Ten" are not acceptable as they can be interpreted as character bashing. Clear marking of pairings also helps our friends at the_spdn (the Doctor/Rose newsletter) with their job. :D
Tags for Ten II and the remaining S4 episodes will be available after "Journey's End" airs in the US.
When posting fic or graphics that might contain spoilers, PLEASE refer to the FAQ [How to Make a LJ Cut]. Also, please put fair warning outside your cut (as we have above) that your post behind the cut contains spoilers. We will consider anything from the finale spoilers until Saturday, August 9th. We also ask that you refrain from using any spoilery icons from the finale until that date. "Spoilery icons" refer to any major events that occurred in Journey's End, including text or images from the ep or the Confidential. We're pushing back the date on icons a bit to allow everyone time to catch up.
First offense will mean a comment from a mod, asking you to change your icon within a certain period of time. If you do not, your post will be deleted, although you are of course welcome to repost your information with a different icon. A second offense will result in being put on moderated status.
Contacting the Mods
If you'd like to address the comm membership regarding any policies or problems, please come to us first. If there's an issue, it's likely something that should be handled by us anyway. As always, if you have a problem, complaint, or suggestion, please contact us via our [Dear Moddy] post. We'll get back to you as quickly as possible.
