Just, yeah, before you get fired and all, so you can say YOU walked out of a bad situation, and explain your piece. Or not, and make up some story. Control's the important thing.
I saw this great movie once where that guy from The Sopranos only younger was the server or something at a mobster's club, and he told Joe Pesci, who had previously shot him in the foot, to go fuck himself, at which point Joe Pesci shot him dead. The lesson there is, I guess, that you don't have to put up with anybody busting your balls.
And while you're looking for something, check out the University. Seems like they generally have a lot of things set up even if you don't have work study. They might not be the best, but it would be something to keep the cash flowing until you find something better. Here at UO, at the beginning of every term, the dorm convenience store complex thing with the mongolian grill and cafe and sandwich shop and all that HAS to hire you if you bring in a class schedule and a SS card, with no real application process even, at least until the staff fills completely up. It's certainly not as nice as those lazy-ass work study kids who sit in the computer labs getting paid to mess around on computers and do homework, but it's something.
