Ooh, I dig this Candy Bear Stupid song... I just fear that electro won't go over very well with this particular crowd. Definitely downloading that song for my own nefarious purposes, though.
As a fellow Californian, SO MUCH WORD ON CALIFORNIA LOVE except it might be awkward if you guys are a bunch of East Coasters XD
But just so you know, if you ever plan a party in CA, this is the jam to play. This song should be our state anthem or some shit, cos it's the only thing that can unite NorCal and SoCal XD

I used to make party lists all the time - I LOVE making party music lists. Just looking at a random list of mine, I have stuff by Yelle, M.I.A. (I prefer the stuff from Arular and Kala), David Guetta (especially now, with "The E.N.D." and "Sexy Bitch" and all, but I listened to his stuff all the time when I lived in Paris a while back), Lady Gaga, MSTRKRFT, and Daft Punk. I don't know how receptive your audience is going to be to Japanese stuff (Capsule, Perfume, a bit of Pizzicato Five) but I have that on my lists too.
What kind of party/crowd is it? My recs will depend highly on the audience; This is my clubby list, although I've got a gangsta list too if your party leans in that direction XD

Yeah, Yelle, M.I.A., and a little David Guetta already made it on the playlist. And Gaga, of course. All of the Gaga.
If it were my own party, I'd throw all kinds of gangsta shit on the list, but this is actually for a party I'm planning for my fraternity, and our big parties tend to attract a lot of hipsters-- for some reason. We'll already be having a live band, so rock music is pretty much covered... for the dance room, I'm trying to keep it more pop-oriented.
I will also take general recommendations, however, because I have a personal predilection towards shakin' it to new beats :)

You're probably going to glare at me for this (...over the internet...), but I already have I'm In Miami, Bitch! on the playlist :3
The 90's rap, though, is duly noted. Every party needs moar 2Pac.
