"Rowling, author of the sensationally popular series, has said two major characters will die but has begged the public not to give away the ending to her seventh and final Potter book."

Snape and Hagrid, I'm calling it right now.

Well argument number one would actually be that we didn't *actually* see Snape stun Flitwick ^_~

pg 619 of HBP

"'I was so stupid, Harry!' said Hermione in a high-pitched whisper. 'He said Professor Flitwick had collapsed and that we should go and take care of him while he - while he went to help fight the Death Eaters -' She covered her face in shame and continued to talk into her fingers, so that her voice was muffled. "We went into his office to see if we could help Professor Flitwick and found him unconscious on the floor...and oh, it's so obvious now, Snape must have Stupefied Flitwick, but we didn't realize, Harry, we didn't realize, we just let Snape go!"

Naturally, that is the conclusion they would come to after such a turn of events, however they never actually saw Snape attack Flitwick. The way I see it, there are three possibilities as to what went down:
1) Flitwick did collapse due to the shock of what was going on
2) Flitwick was attacked by a Death Eater (perhaps even while guarding something from the Death Eaters), and was found unconscious by Snape who, wanting to make sure nothing worse happened to him, brought him to the safety of the dungeon.
3)Flitwick somehow found out that Snape was about to kill Dumbledore, and either collapsed with shock or was stupefied by Snape in order to prevent him from interfering with the job Dumbledore had secretly entrusted him to do.
If Snape really was a Death Eater, Flitwick would not have simply been stupefied. He would be either a) killed by way of Avada Kedavra, or b) driven to insanity by way of the Cruciatus Curse. The fact that he was merely stupefied is even more a testament to the fact that Snape's loyalties lay with the forces of good.

That's RIGHT Draco will turn good ^_^. I actually think something that might provoke said change would actually be (you guessed it) Snape. I have a feeling that perhaps Draco will discover that Snape was hounding him this past year because of the unbreakable vow he made with Narcissa, and this will lead to him realizing that there are powerful people willing to help and that he does have a choice, blah blah blah...Draco turns on Voldemort. Either that or Voldemort kills Lucius, and Draco goes ape shit. Either one of those.

I agree that there will be a lot of unimportant or "secondary" characters dying. Like you pointed out, we unfortunately don't have a very clear idea of who is secondary and who is primary. Could Tonks die? Moody? Shacklebot? Hell's yes they could. I'm only saying that I am betting that the two obviously primary characters to die will be Snape and Hagrid. On top of that...it's anyone's guess. I just hope Wormtail eats it! I hate Wormtail >_<.

Hehehe yeah...
I've been avoiding the Something Awful forums like the plague. I've only been going to LJ (obviously), facebook (which will cease after tonight prolly until I have the book read), myspace (same as above), mugglenet (just cause they won't post any spoilers and they're good at finding out places that are leaking spoilers and are warning people about them), and Narutofan (cause they don't care about Harry Potter and episode 20 comes out today ^_^). I'm going to a book release thing and plan to get there early (because I very much fear them running out of books and want to get in line uber early), but I will definitely be wearing my headphones and drawing so that if some asshole does walk in and want to spoil it, I won't see/hear them. I'll also put Garrett on spoiler watch for me just in case ^_^. And then...yeah. I prolly won't be on the internets until I'm done, just because I won't be able to put the book down ^_^.

You had Snape kills Dumbledore ruined for you? That's awful! How?

It was a couple weeks after the book was released, Kellen saw a poster for HBP and said, "Ha. Harry Potter and the Snape Kills Dumbledore." I was like "!!!!!!!!!"

BTW, keep off Facebook, the same Kellen made a group about Book 7 that's a spoiler (Or it might be, I dunno, it's hard to tell. I can't really explain without saying what it is), and I dunno if you're friends with him, but he's probably not the only one doing shit like this. ~_~
