[sniffle]

So people are just going to start dying soon. Maybe I got it 'cause I was such a jerk...

[private; hackable by anyone awesome who isn't Demyx]

No, Demyx is still a bigger jerk than I am. Stupid... water person! He totally deserved it!

Another. It's spreading faster.

[Private]
What curse? How can someone kill you without knowing it? I could certainly think of a few ways, but ...

I wonder how many people are sick now...

[private]
H-hey, I thought I... well, too late now. Stupid not-cold thing...

Um, well... It doesn't matter, i-it's stupid.

[cough cough]

Who knows. Who cares. In an epidemic rising numbers would usually spur people to find a cure sooner. But everyone here seems quite willing to sit back and hope the group comes through.

[Private]
You thought what?

Indulge the dying man in his curiosity.

We just have to count on them finding the cure in time. I'm sure they'll come through for us...

[Private]
Uh, nevermind. [snifflesniffle]

It's um... well, my family kinda has this... curse-thing...

Why? Why are you so sure, so trusting? What have they done to make you think they have any goodwill towards us?

[Private]
Still keeping secrets at a time like this?

What kind of curse-thing?

Well... if we don't believe they can help us, then...

[Private]
It's... really stupid. U-um, well, we have this... curse. And it says we're supposed to all "die in water" or something stupid like that. [awkward chuckle]

I-I told you, it's nothing! Totally fake. [coughs]

Then what?

[Private]
That's a very strong curse...someone must have hated your family quite a lot. But this Demyx is as powerless as the rest of us, I doubt you have much to fear. I wouldn't tell him though, just in case he tries to use it as an advantage.

You don't seem so sure.

THIS COMMENT IS EXTREMELY LATE DX Can we just pretend this happened on time and continue? gogglor_cometh February 5 2008, 22:52:32 UTC
Well, what are we supposed to believe in? Just... hopelessness and death? That's not good at all! We can't just give up.

[Private]
Waitwaitwait, so... you don't think I'm crazy? Not even a little? Really? Honest?

It's better than believing in lies and false hopes. But I have no intention of giving up. I won't die. I won't.

[Private]
No, why would I? A little overparanoid, but it sounds like a pretty standard curse, very powerful.

But it's not like there's no hope! There still is! We still have a chance!

[Private]
So... you actually believe me? Whenever I tell people about it they just tell me it's all in my head or something. Then again, some people still don't believe in psychics. I think you're the first person to actually believe me!

Of course there's a chance! I won't die, won't die, won't! That doesn't mean we should rely on the word of the group who brought us here, or believe at all that the dead can be brought back.

[Private]
Muggles are quick to disregard what they can find hard to believe. Curses are commonplace where I'm from, like charms, hexes, spells and so on.

What are the details of this curse, exactly?

gogglor_cometh February 6 2008, 22:54:36 UTC
But...

Well, we just can't give up, either way! I'm definitely not going to give up!

[Private]
So that's like, totally normal where you're from? Man, now I really want to see what your world's like... er, not that curses are a good thing, I guess.

Letsee... It's called The Hand of Galochio. Basically, if I go in any deep water this freaky water-hand-thing grabs me. I've seen it a couple times, but I don't think anyone else outside my family ever has. It's really weird. But I know it's real because almost everyone in my entire family died by drowning!

scabbersisgreat February 7 2008, 02:49:03 UTC
Of course. I have no intention of giving up.

[Private]
I wouldn't say normal, really, but it's not uncommon. Magic is a fact of life, and there are always people who use it for...unsavory purposes.

Hm. That sounds interesting. Like the long-lasting curses people would put on old temples and the pyramids of Egypt. Standard, like I said, especially putting it on the entire family. I can't do anything, not without my magic...but it might be a good idea to avoid this Demyx, your fears weren't completely unfounded.

I don't really think he was scheming against you though, or else he wouldn't have told you he could control water.

Then we can't give up on them, either!

[Private]
Yeah, I think that's true for any power...

The only way to remove the curse is if one of the Galochios did it, but... I guess our families went our seperate ways, 'cause I've never met or heard of anyone from their family. But thanks anyway, Peter.

I dunno, maybe he hasn't figured it out yet...

I meant I had no intention of giving up on myself. I have no reason to trust these people.

[Private]
Yes, that's very true.

Hm. Very well, but there's rarely, perhaps never only one way to break a curse.

I'm not sure how he could. A curse where you are destined to die in deep water is hardly the first explanation that comes to mind.
